I’d move Bairstow to 7 regardless and give him the gloves, but don’t see England doing that. Bat Jos at 5 if needs be.

Foakes hasn’t played any cricket all year. The only option to Buttler is YJB. Yes he’s being pissed about again but at least he would be back in a role where he has been very successful.

Averages 31 in FC cricket, wouldn't really be an improvement imo.
No idea how good he is as a keeper mind.

Aye but keepers’ role throughout time has changed and somewhat evolved. They used to be more specialised with the gloves and less so with the bat. Keepers are selected on their ability to bat first rather than their glovework now. And I don’t think anyone should think that it’s fine for Buttler or Bairstow to be averaging as low as they do in Test cricket or to score as few tons as they have (despite them both having spells as specialist batsmen).
Jack Russell averaged 27 in test match cricket. There’s no way we should be saying it’s fine for Bairstow and Buttler to be averaging just a few more runs than him at test match cricket with much better batting ability than he had and far inferior glovework.
Because he's one of the holy trinity hence undropable.
