England v India - Third Test, 10/07

Dawson

Callum
Patterson White

'Decent' is subjective, though.
By "decent" I suppose I mean "would be a concern to the Indians and Aussies even on a good track". Someone who could eventually achieve the greatness of Tuffers or even Panesar (while offering more with bat and fielding).

For me, neither Bashir or Leach meets this benchmark

Leach has a test record very much comparable to Tuffers and Panesar

Bear, off Starsky & Hutch? 🤔😉
Can we toy with them for 30 minutes after lunch so I can get home and see the victory 🙏
You got your wish, BCB. Plenty of toying! 😀
Fat lady clearing her throat.
She must have had a world record size frog in it! 😬
I was at Lord's and the stress kicked in big-style when they needed less than 30.
Working with the telly on, volume down a bit. Heard a bat hit the ball then a cheer. It was the Indian's cheering a flipping single. Thought we'd got a ninth!!

118-8
I was there yesterday and the Indians were going off it all day! It was hard to take at times 😱.

Only taken 8 years.
Nah he wasn't international quality prior to COVID. Nee issues they went for Leach

He's been excellent 2022-2025 both aspects of his game skyrocketed. Should have been picked instead of Moeen in the Ashes.

Don’t envy anyone who’s watched this all day 😂😂
I did. From Lord's. It was arse nipping stuff and very enjoyable to be there. A great day out - and better than working 😀.
It was absolutely horrific at times in Lord's yesterday. We were surrounded by Indians going mental. It really was ridiculous. From the first ball they were cheering every defensive block like it was a boundary. They quietened down somewhat when they went 8 down but then revved it up when they needed 25 - and were chanting, "Are you Scotland in disguise?" and "England get battered everywhere they go!" It was absolutely fantastic when we won it. Their faces were a picture! I started chanting "We are Scotland in disguise!" 😀😀
You will certainly get the runs if you order an Indian this weekend
Unlike India yesterday! 😉

Rehan seemed to be destined for bigger things, how's his form been? 🤔

We do try and chuck them in quick and at the deep end. Some swim, some have to go away and learn their trade before they have another crack. Swan Adil never excelled when 1st thrust on the England scene.

Rehan for me follows the same route imo. He was way too raw with ball when with England (some class mixed with plenty of flith), cant really remember his batting apart from that he could hold a one.

This season for Leicestershire hes been given much more responsibility batting higher and doing canny, scored a couple of centuries. He's not been bowling at all really bar the odd random spell here and there.

So he's miles away from being in the selectors thoughts for a starting berth. Especially if he's coming in as a bowler. His younger brother Farhan Ahmed 17 is the one to watch imo, hes been playing at Notts under Haseeb Hamed this season. Right arm Offspinner who has a higher ceiling than Bash. Farhan like Rehan can bat. Taz Ali 18 legspinner at Warwickshire is another one who will be better than Bash soon. Add A Vaughan and the future in the spin department looks canny like.

England docked WTC points for slow over rate, no sign of India being docked as well
The whole WTC charade is skewed towards teams who play in spin-friendly conditions and who can pack their bowling attacks with bowlers with short run-ups and quick over rates.

No consideration seems to be made for the playing conditions or the type of bowling attacks selected.

Doesn't take a genius to work out who that benefits.
