He has been playing club cricket (plays for Ormskirk who play South North in last 8 of the national KO competition in a few weekends time).

I think he has been playing Lancs 2s and then the odd T20 - couldn’t tell you how he has been bowling or what the script is with him regarding where he falls in the spinners pecking order for selection mind.

Don't think this set up rate him that highly tbh
 
Team for Old Trafford will be interesting. Forced to make a change with the Bashir injury and you assume Atkinson will come in too.
Will they shoehorn Bethell in as the "spinner" or recall Leach/Dawson?

Reckon they’ll keep Archer in? Only 4 days again between 4th and 5th tests.

Atkinson was playing club cricket at the weekend, you’d think he’d play one of the remaining tests. Wood hoping to be fit for the 5th too.

Spinner is anyone’s guess. What’s Moeen up to?

I think we can put Archer's selection to bed. I was sceptical of his selection due to his lack of match practice. But even a half fit Jofra was good enough to remove Jaiswal (twice), Pant 2nd innings Sundar twice (including a stunning C&B). More than enough to justify his inclusion imo. We just need to put him into a cryogenic chamber until the next test.

Let's face it, when on song and fully fit, he's probably our best bowler now (Captain aside).
 
India have been the best over the days but england seem to win the important parts 🤣
Problem with Rehan is that in a dry summer he's being used mainly as a batsman for Notts 😉
