England v India - Third Test, 10/07

You called it. I would have preferred to have wrapped it up post lunch. But can't deny the drama and the spectacle.

Hats off to both teams. India played the better cricket imo but England hung in. That spell from Carse and Stokes last night set today up.
Was a superb test. I'm sure everyone will agree it's much more fun winning a nail biter. It's just the not knowing you will win that has people losing their shit  All good marra.

I think it’s class me. Cricket is much better when there’s argy bargy. The long room in the ashes was brilliant.
Like I say, I don't mind a bit of chunter between bowler and batsman after the latter has missed a jaffa, or creamed one through the covers. But once a bowler has taken a wicket, there's no need for the type of display shown by Siraj. The batsman is out, he already feels like sh!t. All the bowler is doing is showing what a w@nker he is. I can virtually guarantee, had the roles been reversed, he wouldn't have displayed the magnaminity shown towards him by the England players - he would have been too busy celebrating with his teammates.

There wasn't much wrong with Siraj's shot, just so unlucky with a slightly freaky backspin. But we don't feel sorry for Mohammed Siraj

Was a terrible shot, he's let the ball roll onto the bat contributing to the back spin. Should be playing it into the ground with conviction. Even after the shot he could have kicked it away , but watched it roll back onto his stumps.

He's a number 11 to be fair though...so a bad shot is to be expected when facing so many balls and scoring so slowly.

I still haven’t come down.

Delighted England showed such class at the end, I reiterate my views from earlier in the week regarding Siraj - I love the bloke, cricket needs needle and characters like that. He’s rightly been fined for going too far, but he’s a fierce competitor and the sport needs people like him.

Great to see Archer and Stokes come through some monumental spells, it’s huge for England that Archer was able to hit 90mph on the fifth evening of a Test.

In truth, England have probably been outplayed for 11 maybe 12 days out of the 15 but they’re 2-1 up and I suspect that’s one of the main reasons why we all love the team so much. I know it’s one of the main reasons why we get so frustrated with them when they don’t perform - because we all know they have it in them.

Hopefully the skipper gets the pitch he desires at Old Trafford. If it has the pace and bounce it is known for our attack could be really exciting to watch on it. Especially if Atkinson is back.

Enjoy this lads, but go and get the job completed next week.
