England v India - Third Test, 10/07

They're sparse because it's £150 f***ing quid a ticket, not because England and the public doesn't love Test cricket.
I know one fat bald posh twat in a red blazer who'd disagree with that and waddle off to plan an expansion of the Hundred and shuffle the test matches to March and October, with a Kookaburra ball obviously, mumbling something about being a "high performance" and "dead format"

Well it will be interesting to see what the deductions will be for the WTC Table

I’m not holding my breath for India to get any punishment at all

England were penalised a lot in the last cycle

Match is about to start at notts Durham batting
-50 points for England as they were hosting the series and supplied the balls.

It’s will be interesting to see. I think it’s at the end of the series when the WTC table updates

I’m expecting England to be docked

And I’m unsure if the rule where a captain got a game ban is still in place

That would kick in for Stokes first test v Australia

Forgot about the stupid match ban for Stokes for over rates...in all seriousness, how would banning Stokes ahead of the Ashes be good for cricket

I'll be honest, when talking about the best ever. Stats only play a part of it for me. There are intangibles which are often subjective.

Bowling actions are such an intangible. Dale Steyn is probably the closest to perfection a fast bowling action can get.

I admit I might be alone in this. But Bumrah's stuttering weird action counts against him when we talk about the best ever.

You're not alone. Many have spoke about it and how it isnt quite in the spirit of the game. Rules say that bowling arm should only straighten upon realese not throughout delivery stride. Good bowler not great. The images of Brett Lee, Shogib Aktar running in envoke the pinnacle of pure ultra fast bowling for me. NotJasprit Bumrah. Sorry.

It's not like the bcci for bend some rules. It's canny playing with 12. Pant couldn't wicky but can bat? How does that work? Why can't one of other fielders put the gloves on like they used to? Stops teams taking the piss.

Let’s face it, the BCCI run cricket and the game is run to serve the best interests of India who have carte blanche to do as they please.

India therefore can, will and do get away with anything.

Shoaib would be in my list of favourite fast bowlers n all. Good call.

That’s what I’m waiting for when the series is over and the WTC is updated

If they get anything less than England it will prove without doubt, that format is pointless

Today India pushed the game to he absolute limit aided by terrible compliant umpiring

I mean the root catch was another example

The third umpire stated he saw the fingers under the ball so catch confirmed but he wanted another angle, why ? Ridiculous

Never mind the lie down for a rest for 8 mins by Gill when we were 9 down , the ball change farce , then to top it all off, at 5 to 6 on a day when no other batsman had a problem , Pant wanted the crease flattened down

Result over 20 overs lost in the day. If that doesn’t deserve severe punishment , then nothing will

The worst thing is they probably don't need to cheat and that either. They'd gain much more respect and honour if they didnt go on like such one eye pricks. But they don't care about silly things like that. Unfortunately its all about the shekels for them.

We can still call ithem out mate, it's safe on SMB. They don't own all the cricket world yet 🤣

I see a lot of suggestion that India are purposely time wasting. For what reason? It's not like they are well behind the game, in danger currently or trying to hang on for a result.

I'm not saying they weren't by the way. The pitch flattening was weird. The fella lying down even more so. But the reason for it doesn't seem to be apparent. Perhaps it's more to disjoint the play/flow to make it more difficult.

If you can’t honestly see today india wasted zero time then I’ll use your typical insult right back at you

You are a typical football fan and clueless

Fair enough ?

Shurrup man, read it back you utter tatey.
Nope. It’s a standard reply from you in its clever and smug way

Purposely time wasting it states as clear as day

That implies you don’t think it’s happening at all

For once accept you made an error like everyone does, especially me

I have no expectation you will as you will post something subtlely insulting

IVe read you for nigh on 20 years now and know the style

You dish out subtle insults then never accept the return

I expect the usual suspects to back you up of course

Good night. You didn’t half have a good time insulting me with football fan rubbish

No further comment to you and I suggest you put me on ignore as well

Shoaib’s action was arguably far more suss than Bumrah. Bumrah seems to have a natural hyperextension whereas Shoaib’s action was slightly more bent arm / chuck

I really don’t agree with any of that (fighting hard to be respectful 🤣) it’s not about how fast you bowl or how aesthetically pleasing you are it’s your skill set. I loved watching Shoiab bowl and Brett Lee but they are not even vaguely comparable and not on the same stratosphere as Bumrah imo.

Bumrah’s skill set is superb irrespective of action. Conventional swing, reverse, seam movement, all the modern tricks adapted to modern batting. He’s right up there with the greats. I actually think his unconventional and individual action makes him even better. No-one would coach any of that yet he’s still world class.
