England v India - Third Test, 10/07

You've seemingly been given a curfew by some keyboard warriors mate
I’ve tried to help by not disturbing them during actual game time

It’s what they want I assume

It does get confusing at times , wondering if anything upsets anyone

Good news though is I’m out tomorrow , so it will be all peace , good will and entertaining banter, with insightful comment based on knowledge

That ends at 6pm though when it’s all on and my bullshit flows

What do people reckon about can get up to? Hoping for 450 but they would require a big Root too and another good knock from Smith.

Having very little faith in Woakes and below after the double innings meek surrender at Edgbaston.

Id guess around 400. Root gets around 150 and the rest can put another 100 on.

I already felt it'd be tough to knock them over before Stokes got crocked so that's the big ask.

Pre match I wanted the toss won and at least 450

We are halfway there so hoping root can bat through another session , stokes can double his score , then smithy comes in and if he comes off , I think 450 will be there

Has there been any news on pant yet ?

To be honest though , this has the look of a draw to me , but then that happens so rarely but the pitch is ok but will spin big by Saturday and Sunday

Chance for bashir and I hope he takes it

Funny I watched some you tube highlights earlier on the raging turner where we won Popes 196.

Then Hartleys bag full of wickets hardly played a first class match since got huge turn in that one match.

Jadeja got spin today so by the time they bat 4th it has to be going big , in this heat especially

With stokes likely a none bowler it could be the bashir and root show

To get there though we need a bloody good first innings total and then it’s game on

Score 450 and I think we will win, even down a bowler.

Suspect Stokes won't play in the final 2 tests so need to work out the balance. Maybe just bring in Bethel and go without a 4th seamer. Don't want to go with one less batter.

Bethel has been unlucky not to play this season so far

Why they allowed him to sit out the ipl and then drop him was a strange one to me

One problem he has though, he has barely played any red ball since the winter

Irrelevant he bowled a decent ball to get Crawley

Exactly Crawley got a good ball

He did. But when you’re pissing about with your guard, moving from middle to off, moving from deep in the crease to a foot out, he didn’t really set himself up to negate good balls.

I just don’t understand the mindset and mentality whatsoever. He batted beautifully second innings in Leeds and has subsequently decided for fuck that conventional style of batting entirely off and just do what feels right at the the time which almost inevitably is the wrong thing.

He’s getting no better with experience.

Almost like he gets bored 🤣

One he gave himself for attention?

Keep the posts about cricket and people can tolerate different views and enjoy the debate that comes with them but the constant back-up defence at the first disagreement with anything he says derails.

Anyway - great day of test cricket yesterday and think it’s comfortably been the most even days play of the series so far. Great to see England adapt their game plan to suit conditions and the opposition attack. Hopefully stokes injury isn’t as bad as first feared and he can bat on fully (and then bowl) and unleash Smith at this attack with a softer ball to get us up to a healthy first innings total.

Worry for the bowling attack with Archer coming back, Stokes now carrying and Carse not looking fit at Edgbaston. Hopefully Woakes finds his Lords magic and Bashir can deliver what people believe he is capable of bowling second and fourth with runs on the board.

For Stokes to show discomfort indicates to me that it's a pretty serious injury which means extra workload for Carse and Archer-a worrying scenario. Root and Smith batting long is our only hope.
Missed all of yesterday’s action other than following the score - what’s up with Stokes?
Groin injury-was limping rather than running between wickets.
