What was the thinking in giving them 5 tests? Its a pointless exercise.Dhoni has just admitted that ODI is not as hard as test cricket.
Well, no worries it's all over now - how the heck did we allow that Indian side to win a game?A useless exercise if ever there was one.
That's what I meant![]()
Actually I think Bell's had a poor summer. Things are certainly looking a lot better than a few weeks ago but there are still major question marks over an opening batsman, Ali's playing of the short ball on slow pitches never mind quick ones, Jordan's bowling is poor despite his figures in this match and I think Woakes still has a lot to prove. It will be interesting to see how Ballance and Root go against good quicks, neither seem happy getting on the front foot but have butchered the Indian attack.Plenty of build on as a test side. The 'core' of the team proving its class again in the likes of Anderson, Root, Bell and Broad. Good to see Cook get a couple of decent scores too. The 'new' players have done well on the whole, Ballance looks very capable and Moeen Ali has done himself no harm with his spin.

He's not bad and the wickets were slow when he played. He's nothing compared to the likes of Steyn, Morkel, Harris and Johnson though.varun aaron ( great name) .was pretty rapid
Dhoni hinted he'll quit, writing looks on the wall for Fletcher with Shastri's appointment. Dhoni's captaincy has varied from weird to shambolic but the Indians were a disgrace at the weekend, they didn't play with any pride whatsoever and if you haven't got that the best coach and captain in the world couldn't do anything with that.I notice that the Indian press, quite rightly, have the knives out for both Dhoni and Fletcher....
