England v India 5th Test, Edgbaston (1st July) Match Thread

I tell you how stupid this summer has been.

I'm looking at England cruising to a 4th innings target of 378, which would be the highest ever, and I don't doubt it for a minute. And I can see Bairstow is on 92 off 112 balls and I'm thinking, taking it easy this morning is he?

Mental.
 

There needs to be a major investigation into this ball situation. Totally ridiculous.
Won’t slag India off too much because we tried it over and over….but I have noticed that they always go to Aleem Dar, who seems less ’enthusiastic’ about getting it through the hoops.

It’s the current batch of dukes, they’ve been an issue in county cricket as well. For all the talk of our batting we have outbowled NZ and India with about 10 bowlers missing, which is pretty impressive considering their attacks
