My days we're shite
Moeen is class to watch for all his faults
You aren't winning test matches batting like this.
Cook's concentration seems to have gone.
Par score for this wicket roughly??
Par score for this wicket roughly??
It's not a kneejerk with Cook mate, if you take away his double hundreds recently he averages 17 (before this innings) His technique was never great but his main weapon was his mental concentration and toughness.Moeen is a better batsman than Buttler generally and Stokes at the moment. He should be in the team, always, even if its down at eight (it shouldn't be: he should always be ahead of Buttler) because he's also our best spinner. Or at least it's close enough between him and Leach for his all-round ability to carry the day. Certainly in England where it's rarely a factor.
The top order is the problem. They've been shite for ages and the middle/lower order bails them out time and again. It's even worse this series because Root is chronically out of form too.
If we have to pick from four down: Root, Bairstow, plus the three all-rounders and Woakes/Curran coming it at nine, so be it. We should stop f***ing around and pick them.
I'd like us to be more attacking - but until we find two new top order players, we can't.
Cook is shot. Should hang it up at end of series, before he gets shoved.
Funnily enough Bell had the technique but lacked the mental strength.Gonna be a close thing to see who scores the most, England or Ian Bell (currently 160*)
Andy Jacobs again was seriously suggesting swap the batting orderIndia have absolutely zero problems getting our top order our but our tailenders cause massive problems![]()
I think Burns is the three. He can weigh anchor and let the shotmakers play around him.
You can make an argument for it. But he's fulfilling his brief isn't he? Which is not connected to the test team, but more ODI focused. I honestly think we could be the best ODI team of all time.
What I would say is: I'd like to know exactly what it is Ramprakash is doing. I'd peddle him because I think a message needs to be sent.
And you can look at him two ways, can't you? You can say - no mate, coaches don't do much, no point. To which I say, well why the fuck are we paying handsomely to do nothing?
Or you can say he makes a difference, if not technically, then at least tactically/mentally in terms of the mindset he tries to encourage from our batsmen. That's the way I see it: too much of this "play your game, be yourself, let's play attacking cricket - that's our brand". Well, bollocks: you can't play attacking cricket very often in England because of the moving ball: that's the rope the Aussies keep hanging themselves on.
Curran about to get more than the top six combined...

Fully expect Curran to get dropped next test, he's scoring far too many runs here.
