Who exactly are they? I know Geoff Miller is one but who are the rest.

Not sure who the selectors are but they went into this series with a plan of using tall fast bowlers in Australian conditions. After the first test that plan was in absolute tatters. Where are Tremlett, Finn and Rankin ?
They will not get a game unless England lose in Perth and lose the Ashes.
The selectors should be asked the real reason why Onions was not selected. I always thought you picked your best bowlers !
Clearly they spoke with the coach about the series plans and he must have agreed with the tall bowler theory ?

A bit of a shambles really.They messed up big time.Tremlett has been dogged by injuries all his life and peaked in 2010 at this level so I believe Onions should have been selected in his place.Finn is a talent that must be persevered with whilethe selectors must not fancy him which begs the question why did they select him in the first place.I also think a batsman should have been called up to replace Trott in the squad.When he left there were still 4 tests to play.[DOUBLEPOST=1387029215][/DOUBLEPOST]

he should have gone and should be providing competition to Anderson who hasnt looked threatening since the first test in the summer

Probably. The main positive of Onions bowling is that he relentlessly attacks the stumps. I think he'd have been more useful in Brisbane and in Perth than Anderson
 
Tremlett was a bizarre selection, did they even look at his county form and fitness? An express bowler bowling at 80 mph!
 
Onions should have gone, the England management should have known Tremlett was over the hill, he bowled superb at the Riverside but it was clear to the naked eye that he was only able to bowl brisk meduim pace. The simple fact is the selectors don't think Onions is a test class bowler and the tragedy for Graeme is that he will probably never get a fair chance to see if he was good enough at international level.

5/38 against the Windies is not to be sniffed at. The trouble is he didn't really do owt with the ball in South Africa, and is thus pigeon holed as a bowler for English conditions. Not picking him in the home Ashes was the bigger crime, especially at the Riverside. He should really get a shot against India but I am not going to hold my breath.

That was a poorly written post by me i should have made it clear that it was Tremlett who bowled well at the Riverside for Surrey but was only brisk meduim pace.
