England Players County Form

Sibley is a vastly improved player now than when he last played for England.
Criticism does not necessarily equate to negativity and it's perfectly fair comment that the current England team have illustrated a weakness to adapt to differing situations. The "one size fits all" approach can be justifiably criticised.
It can if it is was measured and balanced, which at times it not, it’s even resorted to piss taking at times such is the criticism soo unbalanced.

Games constantly mentioned that agreeably we have gone too hard in and not adapted.

However many games where going hard has resulted in success and winning games that would previously never have happened hardly mentioned.

Sibley has scored his runs slow this season against county bowlers against international bowlers with less bad balls it would be even worse imo.

Simply putting more pressure on the other players

I think that you're far too effusive about England's performances to the extent that I can never recall you making a negative comment. You're fully entitled to hold that view. Live and let live. I think the negatives always outweigh the positives on any sporting discussion. Ce la vie.

Bailey's scoring rate this season is 68%. that equates to 4+ runs per over. Whether that is slow is purely subjective.

It’s not soo much the balanced view that England have failed to adapt in games that I object too.

As that is both true and fair.

It’s the piss taking and lack of respect comments.

This regime has totally changed the mentality of English test cricket from one that was frightened to take risks in case they lost games or players frightened to express themselves in case they were dropped.

To one that take risks to win games makes players feel comfortable to be themselves and allows them to flourish.

Sure you make a great point in that there has several occasions where that has gone too far, more that accept that.

But the positives far outweigh the negatives with this regime for me and more than happy to have bumps in the road to achieve the bigger picture of winning more test matches

No he hasn’t. He’s scored at 45-50. Apart from the innings against Essex when batting for a draw

He scored pretty slow yesterday - 53 in 160 balls. Burns was scoring at twice the rate. Dont see it as a problem though and actually it worked really well with Burns scoring quickly at the other end. Burns played some lovely shots but it was Sibley that impressed me most.

I'm not making a big case for Sibley. We ideally need players who can slow the game or move it at pace when needed. Does Sibley have both gears when needed? At the same time, feels like some of our current players are stuck in the other gear too much at times.

Everytime I look he seems to be scoring at a rate lower than the rest of the players in the team.

45-50 is relatively slow imo, like I say that against county bowlers can’t really see it getting anything but worse against international bowlers

Sibley is the batsman to pick when you thinking is safety first and not to lose the game rather than thinking of winning it.

He was found out at international level he scored both slow and had poor average and that’s without playing a single match against Australia if he had imo his average would be even worse

Course we have some of the negativity on here towards the England team is confusing very confusing.

We just won our last away test series but all you hear is negativity.

Stokes and McCullum been great for English cricket

It’s strange like

We just won in NZ but you never know it
Sibley has developed a far greater range of strokes, reads the game and plays as the situation demands. Can't have Neanderthals like that playing for the enlightened England.

He’s not int level like

Don’t care about his strike rate he just isn’t good enough

Good against county pace bowlers but can’t play pace and spin well enough

You need to lose your chip on your shoulder about England, no idea what’s gone but you go from a class poster to someone posting stuff that just makes no sense

You seemed obsessed with golf and didn’t seem to deal with us winning in New Zealand very well

It's what the uneducated seem to prefer. Pick off form, not vibes. Sibley, in any sane, sensible world, would start v Zim.

 You’ve got to be on a wind up here like
His performances in the Blast last year proved that, too. But because he wasn't in great nick before he got dropped by England, the thickos want Crawley because he'll play a nice drive before nicking off and leaving us in the shit

Nah defs on a wind up. Nice try fella

Sincere apologies if I caused offense - presumably the Neanderthal comment which was tongue in cheek. I'll seek an urgent medical appointment to have surgery on the shoulder chip.

It’s similar to Cook
Yeah but not even close has been as consistent, and Cook did in regularly against top class international bowlers.

Sibley has not played one test match against the Aussies yet still has poor average and poor strike rate.

All that would happen in my humble opinion is that on a good day he would occupy the crease for a long time then a good ball would have his name on it and he well have been in a long time for very little runs wise.

To be clear, I wouldn’t pick him.

Haha not having ago like I think you talk sense like 90% of the time just no idea what your problem is with England

It’s Nout to do with his strike rate he’s just not good enough

I can’t believe that people on here still think just picking off county average is how it works, it just isn’t,

It’s how we ended up with Rory burns opening, I mean how on earth did he get to test level.

I know mate you said earlier, it is a difficult one as Crawley record obviously poor as well.

And see all the arguments for dropping him but can’t see a viable alternative at the moment and hope McKinney comes good.

I also think the Aussie wickets may suit Crawley better.

Far all his failings him and Duckett have got us off to plenty of really good starts and putting the opposition under pressure early doors can’t remember Sibley doing that.

It’s not just on county average no. But it should be a little, it’s a guide.

Yeah it has to be a guide or what the point I agree.

And it has to be a concern Crawley’s form to even his biggest fan

But I guess that why the selectors are the selectors to look beyond just that and have a inkling off how they will perform and the higher level
