Anybody off here there, I was. Went with me father.

Cant remember much about the game, or even who we were playing:oops::-?

Remember Marco coming on a sub, although it was said he was only in the squad to get the attendance up;-)

Did we win 1-0, I think Alan Smith scored although I stand to be corrected

fully expecting this to sink without a trace amongst all the transfer bollocks

I was there in the clock stand with school. I think it was against an eastern european team, possibly Polland. Can't remember much about it at all aside from Marco.

Aye I was there with my dad . We played the Czechs I think. one of the first games I went to. Mainstand...tremendous :-)

Czechs and we won 2-0, with Smithy getting both. Didn't Marco start the game?

Could of, like I said I have vague memories of the whole match tbh.

Anybody any idea how many was there or who was playing for England

Quick search I think I have found the match program for sale

I was at that one and also remember being in the Roker End for one against Spain when Shaun Elliott played.
One of the Spanish Centre Forwards had a go at Elliott and Joe Corrigan flattened him as far as I can remember.

I was only a kid when he was playing but he always seemed to have that touch of class about him whenever I seen him play

I'm sure they'd stuck Marco in to get a half decent crowd in.

i recall Tony Adams playing and the crowd giving him the donkey noises.
His commitment and drive were the outstanding memories in that game for me.

I was there in the clock stand paddocks (David Speedie area:lol:) i can remember Smith scoring with a header and he seemed to hang in the air for ages.
