Perhaps the authorities are onto something. Perhaps limited overs cricket for a few hours on an evening, with T20 being the longest, will be the only viable format if days like today become more commonplace in mid summer

When you are hosting a sporting event, you have an obligation to public safety. There should not be 30+ minutes wait for access to water, whichever way you want to spin it.

If you can't give people easy access to water in this weather, then the event should be pulled. To say that 'they could have stayed at home' after folk have paid for tickets is a load of shite imo.

Bottled/canned/water bowsers are easy enough to source. The weather wasn't a surprise that popped up this morning, we've known for well over a week that today was going to be this hot.

They may not have been to do any more than they have, all I'm saying is that if you're running a public event in this weather and you can't get access to water in less than half an hour then it shouldn't be going ahead.
