Eng vs India - First Test - 20th-24th June

Potts is the new Graham Onions. What a waste of the last month for him, seems to be the easy fall guy at the moment.

Cook should have been the one to make way, whilst 1 test doesn't seem like a fair chance, he didn't look the part and the others are better options. I am not sure on Overton, but he's another hit the deck hard bowler which they seem to want plenty of in Australia. My view is that you don't need him and Carse in the same team and Potts is likely to out perform Woakes in Australia.

8. Carse
9. Atkinson
10. Potts
11. Spinner - which will be Bashir

That is the bowling line-up I would go for leading into the Ashes if all are fit and on the basis Tongue/Overton don't pull up trees in this series.
No Wood or Archer?
Archer having played no red ball cricket for dear knows how long and no opportunity to do so before the 2nd test.
Durham v Sussex 22nd June

England currently walking all over WIs in the 2 white ball series.

Can't wait for this test series to start. India will be tougher to beat.

Pope survives then. Suppose it was hard to drop him after his 170 odd against Zimbabwe. He averages 22 against India and Australia. Personally I’d give him two Tests and if he doesn’t improve then I’d bring Bethell in.

Tongue looked poor against India A so he’s fortunate to be in.

If he gets bowled , falling over his front foot, he deserves being dropped

Though we know now, that’s very unlikely to happen

Bowling on paper looks a real concern, especially as looks set for hot weather throughout, can our attack take 20 wickets in good batting conditions?

However have got confidence in Stokes and McCullum getting best out of them.

But not sure they best will be good enough, time will tell.
