I think its a decent email, but we will need continued open communication on the financial progress being made. Eventually those legacy payments, wage bills payments that Short is supposedly covering will go away and then what does he do..

I'm not really interested in anything they have to say tbh. I don't want to see interviews with that smarmy, preening cunt, I don't want to hear more bullshit plans from Ellis Short. I certainly don't blame the person who has to put together / cut and paste the responses to emails. I just want Short out asap.

But it's interesting that they are now trotting out the 'mistakes of the past' line in every interview and communication. Who is the common denominator there then Ellis? Who'd have thought that the f***ing ridiculous decisions you have made in the last few years would be bad ones? I can't be bothered to recite the f***ing list again.

In most jobs, if you were utterly f***ing incompetent in a job for 8 years, got every decision wrong, got nothing of any consequence right, your business lost hundreds of millions of pounds as a result, you would lose your job or be chucked out by shareholders. In the case of Ellis Short, he gets to make the business pay him back, no matter how much the product suffers as a result, and fuck the customers.

We get an arsehole owner with the competence of Peter Ridsdale and the scruples of Phillip Green.

Not a word again about promotion just stability in the Championship. Any ambition has gone is it surprising that fans have turned away when the club has given up.

Now that is a very good question.

Pleased to see Short accept that he has always been the root problem since he took over SAFC.

Exactly the buck has done and always will stop with him, and with that admission of guilt, is a result for fans who pointed this out for years

Fair amount of sound bites and token phrases in the email but it would be no different at any other club. I would love Short and / or Bain to sit me down and explain how the plans they have will help to get us out of the financial mess we are in as I just cannot see it happening
It’s a PR letter from the club means nothing to me when I read it....

I get the impression he's scared of promotion because he'll be thinking he as to then go and spend more millions on shitty players again!
That also makes me wonder if going down became the plan so he could reduce the wage bill.

Standard response I suppose. The club wouldn't reply that Ellis is now bleeding the club dry and he doesn't give a fuck because he's sitting at home in Texas.

I saw something similar posted on RR, suggesting maybe relegation was planned

He might not have 'taken a penny from the club', however his fuck ups have cost the clubs tens of millions and left us in this state.

It's been his boardroom/staff appointments that have been an utter disaster. From Byrne to Congerton to Di Fanti to the jobs for his mates. @shepherd88 step forward
I think Short accepts he has made bad decisions(as he must). He said money was not spent wisely. It certainly wasn't.
This is a bit like having an argument with the wife when it gets to the classic 'sorry isn't enough'. ie we are never going to draw a line under the fact you forgot to take the bins out and bang on about it for evermore.
We are where we are and we have to find a way of digging ourselves out of it. Absent a rich and gullible new owner I am not sure we have many options.

I don't understand this argument mind. He'd f***ing love promotion, he'd simply take the masses of extra tv money, not shell out much at all on the squad and, financially, we'd end up in a much better position. We'd be relegated like but we'd then go back to the bumper first year of parachute payments, delaying the potential Armageddon when they run out, we'd have covered more of the historical payments due for previous purchases and we'd be in a position to really build the next season in the Championship. Burnley did similar and it worked out well for them, as long as you don't bow down to supporter pressure wanting millions of pounds spent in the prem promotion will always be wanted by the men at the top. He's obviously not going to gamble too much to get it but he'd love it if it happened

I doubt it was the initial plan with Moyes but I reckon as Xmas approached Short decided fuck it let's go down this time

I agree, it was clear when no budget for transfers was forthcoming, from that point they give up on premership survival

There's tens of thousands of fans wanting the same. There's no vehicle to do that without people drowning them out with shouting. Also there's the brand to protect.......whatever is left of it.

He wouldn't have to constantly dip into his savings if he wasn't so shite at being a football club owner. As with any other company , it's the customers who suffer when the company is badly ran

I'm now looking at the third club on my list. All three looked at so far have required financial support from their owners, either as loans or as increases in share capital. We're very far from unique.
