Early leavers and final whistle on Sunday

Don't usually wade in on these early leaver threads but it was telling someone started one yesterday bemoaning the lack of appreciation for Diallo. When all they had to have done was stay til the final whistle to see 20k ish applauding him off the pitch.

Leaving Sunderland post match is a massive pain in the arse and I experienced the SoL Metro car park for the first (and last) time yesterday, but agree with others, if you're not going to cheer them off after a Sat 3pm against Man Utd, when will you ever do it?!

You should have to tap your ST on the way out if you leave before full time. Then on renewal you pay an inconvenience tax for those who continually get their view blocked by early leavers

Takes me about 40 minutes - 1 hour to get from where I park to the A19. On a normal day, it'd be 10 minutes. I can't imagine me leaving 10/15 minutes earlier would save me more than 15 minutes or so and that's not worth the sacrifice for missing a moment.

Some people must watch about 70 minutes of a 90 minute game - in late, out at 35, back in at 50, out at 80 minutes. It's absolutely beyond me.

The 5-0 victory v Southampton, it would be entirely possible to have missed all 5 goals. First two within 7 mins, next two a minute either side of half time and the last one, the Bennette triple spin and Riggs first goal was injury time.

I don’t understand why people can’t just add an extra 20 or 30 minutes on to the length of time the match takes. Fair enough if there’s something important you’ve got to get away for but the vast majority are out for the day at the match.
Yesterday took us 15 minutes to get out from near the back of the concourse, stopped for a greasy burger by the cafe and by the time we got served the streets were virtually clear. I could never get my head round the mentality that you have to ‘beat’ everyone and be first to get away.

Leaving the match 10 minutes earlier can save you an hour getting home, depending on where you live and where you park.

Until that issue is resolved then early leavers will be a thing.

They don’t care as much as those that stay. Simple as that.

I left bang on full time. I was boysting for a piss and 2 blokes on the end of the row next to me raised their eyebrows.

Oh I’m sorry I didnt sing our end of game song. I’m also sorry I didnt pull you up for leaving at half time against Forest.

Bloody eyebrow raisers.
