Durham vs Surrey - CC Match Thread

North is the Director of cricket i.e. His mandate is the overall direction that cricket takes across the club. The club is spiralling downwards at both senior and junior levels. North is responsible for playing and coaching appointment at all levels. The buck stops at North.
So the equivalent of Speakman at SAFC…still not sure how he can be blamed for the inconsistency of Gay, and disappointment of Rhodes and Newsham …players we all thought would improve our side?
This is like a Sunderland match thread, everyone panicking

See how it goes, we might bowl Surrey out for 49

KTF!!!
The same Surrey who scored 800 against us a couple of weeks ago ?

Pitch is terrible thou, won't be easy for Surrey

Let’s see how our bowlers get on then, because just looking at the scorecard without context, that was pathetic

Fully expect with their batting line up to be commencing our second innings over 400 behind .... hoping its a tough pitch that justifies our shocking total but somehow doubt it.

Not so sure that Speakman has as much authority as North but I'd have thought my outlining of North's duties clarified why he should be held responsible. He appointed the inconsistent Gay and the disappointing Rhodes and Newsham. Not to mention the injury prone overseas plus Gay and DeLeede reluctance to commit fully to Durham.
