DURHAM v NOTTS (a) C.C.

I reckon Durham must have got some bonus quality outdoors practice and netting in the past 10 days. The weather reminds me of that spring of the first lock down.
It was reported on the national weather that in a lot of the UK its been the driest March since 1961 - not that I can remember that !

Long may it continue.

My post now combines what you are talking about now and the local cricket thread but I’ll say it here since I’m here.

It’s Sod’s Law that the last 2/3 years our local league ended up calling off the first couple of weeks because of the bad winter and bad weather at the start of the season. But now they have planned and started the season later in the month anyway, we’ve actually had a reasonable winter and the weather now is good.

I suppose on the pro side of things it means the counties have been able to get up to scratch ready for the start of the season and hopefully a bit of a stress free winter for once.

I can not WAIT!!

I am worried about our bowling a bit myself....batting looks strong though...and we need a lot lot more from Parky in these early months
Well there’s no rain forecast but it’s not as warm as I’d hoped given that it’s set to touch 18 degrees down here in midweek.

Me and a mate are heading along to Trent Bridge on Saturday to watch. Can’t wait.

I never actually thought of going, I am tempted actually. Shame about the weather!

I think you must be looking at a different forecast to me? 20c in West Bridgford tomorrow according to the Met Office, and full sun for the whole 4 days. Am stocked up with factor 50 and have the trusty DCCC bucket hat at the ready 😁
Was looking at last year and we only had one sunny day in April and that was the 30th !! Already been surpassed this year.

Hope you and whichever of The Trapdoor Army Army are going enjoy the match.

David Bedingham is not available for the opening round as he remains with Western Province who are currently playing in the CSA Four Day Championship against North West Dragons, but is expected to arrive for next week’s match against Warwickshire. Brendan Doggett will land in the North East next week ahead of our opening fixture at home next week.

Daniel Hogg and Sam Conners aren’t available for selection as they work on their recovery following recent injuries sustained.
