They’re taking the absolute piss
After the umpires deemed the playing surface unplayable on Day Three of Kent vs. Durham in the Rothesay County Championship, Kent Cricket has reviewed its Refund & Wet Weather Policy.
The Club has decided to compensate all ticket purchasers beyond the scope of this pre-existing policy, which was shared with Day Three ticket holders last night. Following this internal review, all ticket holders will be eligible for a Kent Cricket ticketing voucher of the equivalent value of ticket/tickets purchased for Sunday 17 May, which can be redeemed against match tickets for any Kent Cricket fixture for the remainder of the 2026 season or during the 2027 season.
This change means that compensation is no longer reserved to Day Four of Kent vs. Durham today, or the England Lions vs. South Africa A fixture at The County Ground, Beckenham on 29 May – 1 June.
The Club sincerely apologises for any inconvenience caused on Day Three of Kent vs. Durham, and hopes that this change to the Refund & Wet Weather Policy is better suited to allows as many supporters and ticket holders as possible to be fairly compensated.
Kent Cricket will now be fully reviewing its Refund & Wet Weather Policy for future fixtures in light of events at Beckenham this week.
