Durham v Kent (A) C.C. 15/5/26

They’re taking the absolute piss

After the umpires deemed the playing surface unplayable on Day Three of Kent vs. Durham in the Rothesay County Championship, Kent Cricket has reviewed its Refund & Wet Weather Policy.

The Club has decided to compensate all ticket purchasers beyond the scope of this pre-existing policy, which was shared with Day Three ticket holders last night. Following this internal review, all ticket holders will be eligible for a Kent Cricket ticketing voucher of the equivalent value of ticket/tickets purchased for Sunday 17 May, which can be redeemed against match tickets for any Kent Cricket fixture for the remainder of the 2026 season or during the 2027 season.

This change means that compensation is no longer reserved to Day Four of Kent vs. Durham today, or the England Lions vs. South Africa A fixture at The County Ground, Beckenham on 29 May – 1 June.

The Club sincerely apologises for any inconvenience caused on Day Three of Kent vs. Durham, and hopes that this change to the Refund & Wet Weather Policy is better suited to allows as many supporters and ticket holders as possible to be fairly compensated.

Kent Cricket will now be fully reviewing its Refund & Wet Weather Policy for future fixtures in light of events at Beckenham this week.

Ticket holders from 17 May are invited to fill in the form below, and will be contacted with next steps regarding their ticketing credit:
Absolute robbing twats

Dunno what citizens advice might advise RE this.

But doubt they are allowed to put a statement out like that without some legal input. But companies have made mistakes on things like this before.

Not been able to watch this morning but hopefully these two can put on a nice big partnership. Tons each would be just the ticket!!!

For me, it revolves around whether the contract you enter into when purchasing a ticket is fair or unfair.

Bearing in mind that it was Kent's fault that no play took place yesterday, this only supports those wanting a cash refund. It is entirely predictable that it may rain and Kent would be expected to make reasonable arrangements for this not to affect play. Quite clearly they didn't.

My fault I said if those too could keep batting and put up a ton each we'd be fine!

Ahh well batting point up, hopefully there can be more for us. Haway the Bens
I'll shut the fuck up a nothing drag on from the Stokes version of the Bens
8 down, looks like we won't avoid the follow on. Hopefully the afternoon rain turns up.
Well as it was 374 would have needed to bat very well.

Alas after Ben and Kasey appeared to have done the hard work two very tame dismissals.

Absolutely horrible batting performance. Watched an hour at lunch and there were two or three play and misses to Parkinson and a dropped catch from Taylor before Aldridge hung out his bat for a regulation slip catch.

The good news is it is forecast to rain from 2.30-6.00 but if so we will have got out of jail with a draw.

Is there an extended session this morning?

Nice little flurry of runs but Potts has just smashed one straight up in the air. WTF IS HE DOING!!!!

Potts wants his head looking at. Four balls til lunch, which will also take 2 overs out of the game and he does that. Good grief.

The session will now be extended with us 9 down, follow-on imminent. Where’s that rain?

That was truly awful from Potts.

They had just been batting well why not come back after lunch and go again.

Been a shambles more dropped catches and awful batting with Gay away any word McKinney we have 5 constant performers this season and 6 players making up the numbers.
