Just bloody call it off and let the lads get back to the hotel.
The umpires will be wanting their free scran at tea time. After that they'll have a look at the wicket and call it off then. They're not daff these umpires.

No play today confirmed. The umpires head back to their hotel with full stomachs.Few mentions on the socials that the wet pitch is due to an incorrectly coupled hose

That's what I would think considering the circumstances. The no refunds policy is surely illegal?
I’m going to be a complete arse about it, will let you know how I get onThat's what I would think considering the circumstances.
Cheers, you can add my details if you want, can send my ticket etc.I’m going to be a complete arse about it, will let you know how I get on
I’ve sent a snooty email already, and I’ll threaten all sorts of stuff.Cheers, you can add my details if you want, can send my ticket etc.
Am going to send an email tomorrow to Kent, or Tuesday at the latest, but not sure where to go when they knock me back.
Don't even know if there's an ombudsman for this. And it's a very small claim.
Was going to threaten socials, but am not on any at all. Only one I'm on is this.
I can live without the £22 but still furious about their attitude.
I thought it was a hair dryer from the boundary, they were definitely using something. Was the leafblower a windup? Or is there a photo?
They'll all have toddled off home too. Come back and have another look at 10am ish.But only after noon, they just left the wicket alone until then
I don’t understand how it was so wet. It’s been bone dry all day, there wasn’t much rain at all! They'll all have toddled off home too. Come back and have another look at 10am ish.
Some dude on the twitter........I don’t understand how it was so wet. It’s been bone dry all day, there wasn’t much rain at all!
Surely the decision on whether the outfield is fit for play, similar to weather conditions is solely down to the umpire? Sounds like Kent fans are trying to find excuses for the incompetence of their groundsmen. Some dude on the twitter........
Word among the crowd here is that a gasket failed overnight on the covers, which leaked. And a Kent fan says he has heard Durham have objected to the pitch.
Got a link for that please? Some dude on the twitter........

I think they were objecting to starting, if anything. Not sure why Durham would object. They've no chance of winning and today has helped them get closer to the draw which is the best they can hope for.

I'd guess there would be consultation with the captains in the unusual circumstances with their opinions being sought.Surely the decision on whether the outfield is fit for play, similar to weather conditions is solely down to the umpire? Yeah, £18 day before.
On the tram now, still livid with a complaint I made to the Secretary, Jay Stedwick, or a similar name.
He told me their policy, as we know is under 16 overs gets a free ticket.
Wasn't interested that I'm a Durham fan, cant go tomorrow and won't see Kent this season.
He said they're extending the offer of a free ticket to the England game in a few weeks Lions or ladies, not sure, obviously told hum the same applies to me.
I said I wouldn't be bothered if it was rain, but the game is not being played because of their incompetence.
He actually said it wasn't the fault of the people. working there! Pointing out that that was irrelevant made no difference.
I asked who else could I complain to, he said he's in charge.
Anyone got any ideas?

Kent must be bloody fuming though![]()

Exactly and Hollioake wasn't overly keen to play on the third day up here after Storm Dave had done its damage.Good for us for digging our heels in, the pitch would’ve been a minefield if it was damp on a length and would’ve been a huge advantage for the fielding side.
