Durham v Kent (A) C.C. 15/5/26

@TheRey

Didn't realise your much hated Kent share the same part of the world as your beloved Palace training ground.
I think you mean K*nt ;)

But aye, basically next door.🤢
Maybe a controversial opinion but I don't think they should be allowed to play CC games at outgrounds.

Reading the wiki on the ground it cost £30 mil to re-develop it.

Must have had the cowboys in!

It's a horrible ground. Not because its K*nt- i love Cunterbury - its primitive, soulless, dead, always a flat pitch, and the locals are arseholes.

There’s nowt there to spend £30m on?!!!!

Not sure what’s happened with Aldridge, he was very economical through the first 4 games but last week and today he’s going all round the park. Not sure whether it’s a tactical thing or if he’s lost a bit of rhythm or what.

With the weather around and this pitch looking extremely flat I don't think we will be in for a lot of exciting action in the next 4 days.

Well, I’ve been looking forward to this morning all week and I’m disappointed to say it’s been absolutely crap.

Mostly to do with Kent, their stream has been crap, the commentary syncing has meant I’ve had to watch on mute for the most part and the pitch they’ve prepared looks completely incompatible with good cricket - although I concede there is a lot of time left for that to change. My fear is that they’ve prepared a Surrey* style pitch because they’ve seen how absolutely stacked our lineup is and they’ve decided they can’t risk being humiliated.

*thats not having a pop at Surrey, I’m on about the host venues time and time again when they’re due a visit from Kent. Although I know Stewy hasn’t been impressed by many of his own pitches either…

That was always going to be the fear, on a positive note, because of the start we’ve made - a draw with a handful of bonus points wouldn’t be a bad outcome at all. Especially if the weather is similar everywhere and nobody gains much ground - although Northants might have a win by Saturday night

Tried to bump the CC 2026 thread but I was last poster

Leicestershire 166/2 from 30 overs at lunch after put into bat by Essex!!

Seems like they’ve found the groove that won them the Second Division last year. Still can’t get over Rehan leaving them for the IPL.

Sam NE has scored about 36 of his 42 via the edge 🤦‍♂️
-
Dawkins dropped at slip by Bedingham off Raine.
-
Dawkins was on 63 when he was dropped and is now on his career high score. Hard enough to take wickets on this pitch without dollies being dropped at slip. 151-1.

First time ive had a chance to see the score. Looks like a good game to miss. We've only taken the walking wicket.
