Durham v Glamorgan (h) C.C.

Well that was a long day half 10 until half 6. Glamorgan just turned up for a whack about, they didn't really seemed angry or arsed. I can't criticise them too much as other scores seem to mirror that and for me the blame lies with the format, it must change next season. I couldn't really take it seriously today. Bedingham masterclass late in the day was enjoyable to watch but he's like that most of the time and is just shy now of 1000 runs which is superb. Things need to change next year I don't want to be watching dead rubber red ball cricket in July and then having to wait again until September it's pathetic. The covid carry on with Surrey needs to be addressed as after reading about events today, question marks remain why our game was called off 48 hours beforehand. I know the club and players were pissed off about it and by all accounts questions have been asked. 99.9% sure that's my lot now for the season, I'll miss going to the games having waited so long with 2020 wiped out. Be interesting to see what sort of schedule we get next year, speaking to folk who buy their membership on a yearly basis, they're all just hanging back and waiting to see how it all goes and will renew close to April next year such is the lack of faith they have in the powers ruining the game. Good to see Jones score well again he's a class player.

Gordon
Agree with the stupid awful scheduling of the county championship, and it’s terrible format and deliberate downgrading by the dunces at the ECB
It was good to see Jones get a decent score but he needs to push on from promising positions he gets in to prove he is a class player

Yup agree with that. He's one I rate highly and have done for a while. I do hope he can kick on as he has the game and temperament to go very well & is showing many positive signs. He's missed out big time today mind as the Glamorgan lot are half arsed.

Good day in the Ch le St sun. In the Trapdoor Stand from 9.45am to 6.30pm.

Shame Jones didnt get his ton but as previously mentioned he seemed to grind to a halt in the 70s. Bedingham looked in a different league at the end and good to see Coughlin in the wickets.

I would certainly have taken that lead at 11.15 am.😁

missed the bus by all of 3 minutes so had an hour to kill (but all those people who say chester le street isn't awkward for supporters are right mind)

went to the trendy pub at the top of ropery lane and had me eyes took out to the tune of £8.50 for a gin and tonic to the tune of .. would you believe... bewitched

literally playing as i walked in the door, not sure which floored me most, that or the prices :confused:

C'est la vie.

Bedingham never looked comfortable this morning. 234/4
Jones acting as a runner for Dickson.
When was Dickson injured?

Bedingham on 992 FC runs for the season, might have to wait til next week to get to (and beyond) 1,000.

250-4, a second batting point - new ball due in 8 overs.
-
306-4 (83 overs) Dickson 43*, Eckersley 41*. Lead by 209.

Got 27 overs to score 94 more for the maximum five batting points.
