Haha, that’s class… did not know that!
Can you not take a photo of it with your phone?I’ve been trying to find a photo, but the only one I can find won’t let me save it.
Spent a lot of my childhood going there, I won a penalty competition (beat pricey in the final) and the trophy was one of Eddie Snooks old ones. Great days, Washington was a class place to grow up in.The 'playbarn' we called it.
Hope John Thompson wasn't in goal. You wouldn't score many pennas past him.Spent a lot of my childhood going there, I won a penalty competition (beat pricey in the final) and the trophy was one of Eddie Snooks old ones. Great days, Washington was a class place to grow up in.

Me too. Apparently the name was because it looked like a computer. My mam still says that about a few things. If it looks unusual and has clean straight edges, then it looks like a computer. She has seen plenty of them these days and knows stuff doesn’t, but likes to say it anyway.Used to call it The Computer Centre when we were kids (mid/late 70s)
It was a computer centre. It used to produce child benefit books and giro’s for the whole country, as well as computer output for the business. The latter only stopped a few years ago.Used to call it The Computer Centre when we were kids (mid/late 70s)
Been inside not long ago, very eerie, I got some photos of the plant room and allWorked there 03-05, loved the place. Great team I was on. Left for promotion but fond memories of Durham house.
I would imagine it’s eerie inside now.
