Durham CCC 30th Anniversary Buffet Thurs Aug 25

Anyone going to this on Thursday? 7.00pm for 7.30pm start in the Geoff Cook Lounge One free drink and some scran. Hosted by Look North's Jeff Brown and a chance to ask questions to some ex players.

Wonder if North and Franklin will be there?🤔

surely they'll be too busy destroying county cricket at the 16.4?

obviously by using the word 'scran' you know i'll be there  i was going to bring that book of yours to return if you'll be there.
Didn't even get an invite.....

i hope you don't have the cheek to be surprised

It's rumoured that Ghfd is catering consultant for the Anniversary supper so expect the unexpected 😉

Just home. Decent enough night that. Was nice to hear Simon Brown speak. I expected a few more former players to be their to be honest. It was good to talk about 2013 though, a wonderful year that was, a day i'll never forget, Likewise Lords 2014, think me and my wife endured every emotion that day at the ground. Good memories. Not sure I agreed with Killeen talking up things but I guess that's all he can say really. Some nice memories remembered tonight.

Decent bait 🤔
Wasn't too bad at all
One thing that we both picked up on tonight was Killeen saying how much the club/squad etc appreciate the support... I don't disagree with that on the whole but I can't for the life of me agree concerning North & Franklin who never have time to speak to anyone at the ground. Zero personality at all, certainly don't give the impression they appreciate/care the support & want to mix/engage with people which in my opinion is a key part of the Durham ethos/community as shown tonight.

Good to see and hear Simon Brown there and Ash Patel and Steve Atkinson from the minor counties days. Thought Killeen talked a load of crap when he said stuff like we'll be winning silverware in the next year or two but I suppose it wouldn't be good practice to give the members the true picture.

I don't think he put a time frame in it did he? He said we need to be patient but they'll come in time or something, which is hard to see granted but as you say, what else can be say

It was quite noticeable the way he said "we really appreciate the support, I know it doesn't always look it..." or something similar. Thought it was quite a strange comment at the time
