What is the closest point you can get a car to it ? Which route takes a car close to it ?
Thanks.

Park and ride near

Botanic Gardens will get you to New Elvet footbridge then cross river

Are you going to the carol service there tomorrow ?
I reluctantly took the wife and her mam a couple of years ago but enjoyed it once there.
No an elderly relative is and was asking if he could get close to the cathedral in his car. I told him he couldn't really.

It has to be arranged in advance. You need to ring the Cathedral and organise parking with them. The parking is round the back of the Cathedral, so you need to head down the North Bailey but I'm not sure exactly where it is.

The Palace Green belongs to the University. You'll get wrong off the warden if you try and park there - as my Mam did

If he has a blue badge, he doesn't have to pay the £2 charge.

The shuttle bus from the car park is probably easiest if he can manage getting on the bus.

It’s “the finest example of Romanesque architecture in the world” said my lecturer when I was away at university. Made me very proud it did.
