Durham’s T20 Campaign

Really enjoyed tonight.

Walked in unchecked during the 530 thunderstorm (although had one anyway) and a group of us sat in the bar for 2 hours convinced we’d see nowt. Fair play to the umpires for getting it on.

Thought our team selection was poor but the match was very entertaining. Catching the difference between the two teams, and possibly Fletcher’s three dots at the start of the penultimate over.

The T20 nights at Durham are great.
Not a post that’s been made tonight mind, but i agree strangely, the result doesn’t really matter when I attend as long as I see a few decent shots, catches and wickets

if Durham win, great

Aye a close game is the main thing for me, although loads better if we win obviously.

The view from the top of the triple decker when we play on that side of the square must be one of the best in the country too.

Totally agree. The match went to the last ball and it was the second last over that lost it for us.

As you say I want Durham to win but happy to see a close game with some big hitting.

I’m not going to get upset over a lost cricket match, the football is a different matter however 😉

In fairness with the members forums. There’s usually 3 a season, had one at start. One in middle, surely be organised soon? And then end of season. See what happens.

The club usually announce them well on advance. Used to be several during the season. It's July next week and we've heard nowt
In the last 'normal' season ie 2019 there was the traditional 'Meet The Players' forum in April, then one in July, August and September ( the latter was cancelled due to the last three days of the Glamorgan home game being washed out. )

Can't see there being three members forums between now and the end of the season. We'll be lucky if there's one and that will probably be at close of play after the Michael Buble concert.

And the ground staff!

Don’t think the players and staff would feel that way. Winning is everything and poor performances can cost them their jobs. Believe me. It matters!

Don’t get me wrong, I understand that winning matters and I want Durham to win. I was simply making the point that from a personal point of view I enjoy the spectacle of a close game.

I would have been cheering if Durham had hit a boundary off the last ball to win but not getting over the line hasn’t spoilt my weekend whereas SAFC conceding a late goal to lose or draw would put a major dampener on my mood

Actually yes I remember those, they used hold gold meet and greets after each game too. They made a full spectacle of player to ram engagement
