Durham’s T20 Campaign

Comms reckoned there was near 5000 tonight. Good crowd

Good news for the club. Good too from a marketing perspective that next week we host Yorkshire and are still alive in the competition.

I mean it with the best intentions at heart - and not in any way in an ‘I told you so’ scenario - when I say that is a big factor in why I think the multitude of loan signings are a good thing with the bigger picture in mind.

The club has to make a success of the Blast. Even just if they do it off the field as opposed to on.

15 generally, but there have been a couple of seasons where 16 wasn’t enough.

We need an absolute minimum of 4 wins from the 6 games that remain, which is really unlikely BUT we’re still alive atleast AND the next two are at home.

the last 2 home games been annoying, just stupid mistakes

we need to chase like, even though we nearly cocked up

I hadnt realise Soutter here for 7 games, kind of more behind, but stand by the fact it shows a lack of long term planning and backing the right talent

there is a short termism crept into Durham's overall thinking which I dont like

I think what we’ve seen is that in patches we can compete with anyone, but ultimately we just aren’t deep enough talent wise.

I refer you once again to the 7 (SEVEN) starters we have missing ;).

Big turn around from Wednesday where I lost interest in the game during our Power Play and it was all downhill from there. Was expecting a hammering tonight but glad to be proved wrong. Still managed to almost snatch defeat from the jaws of victory (memories of that game against Worcestershire couple of years back) but that just made it more exciting. Trevaskis now starting to emerge as a real talent. Hopefully England won't be taking him away as well in the near future.

Was f***ing mint in the riverside last night. One pissed away fan constantly shouting Oh Lanky Lanky until Trev did what he did was brilliant.
Was that in Castleview? I was in there and he was getting on my nerves and was being joined by some friends giving it large when Durham lists wicket.
At the end of the game I looked at a few but said nowt as it looked like a drunken stag do.

Weather forecast for Friday is for 21 degrees c at 7pm

this has convinced me to get my backside to CLS. Planning to sit centre of don robson , level with wicket at the comms box end

I’m not very good at knowing the names of the stands. Underneath the pavilion, about halfway between the dressing rooms and the big screen.

You will be in the shade most, if not all, of the game.

Castleview is at the end of the main stand and close to the media stand.
The cost of £40 per person was said to be good value, it included a meal and a free drink. (I was there to see an ex work colleague and didn’t have any food.)
One of the stag group was dressed as Freddie Mercury from I want to break free video.
