Who would you have picked instead of him? I don’t get the hysteria, he’s clearly in the side as one of the trio of spinners that we are currently employing. So to take him out, would mean you’ve got someone who you’d be confident could bowl 4 overs of spin if needed.

It all just smacks of an overreaction, a wide of the mark hot take.

Eckersley is a strange one, I was told he's injured hence we signed Robinson on loan.......

I'd sooner see the likes of Bushnall/Gibson/Drissel/Crawshaw/Doneathy exposed to the T20 to be honest just to mix it up a little bit. Appreciate Doneathy seems to be injured at the moment but you get what I mean. We'll see what happens.

The positives for me so far are that Clark and Jones seem is good nick.

Communication at the club always has been poor and continues to be poor. We still don't know what is going on with Jack Campbell for example. Is Doneathy injured for example?

Have they told us how long Dickson is out for?

Is Eckersley really injured?

England have asked us not to play them.

Yorkshire pushed back. We didn't.

Yorkshire have more influence in the English game than Durham.

Sorry, I don't know how else to express this. This happens every year.

there is no way Potts and Stokes should have played this game, no way.

Stokes and Potts shouldnt be playing

Are people really thinking Ben Stokes should be playing this game? Surely people cant actually be thinking this

Also Potts isnt playing because hes bowled a shit load of overs on flat pitches with plastic balls and is about to make his debut at Lords

Theres a reason Jimmy and Broad arenowhere to be seen either

they are playing 3 test matches within a few weeks

I get people want Durham to win but I find threads like this so so fristrating, there is absolutely no conspiracy here

I cant actually believe people think Potts and Stoke should be playing, they should be sat with their feet up.

If Matty Potts played for Yorkshire he would not have played tonight.

Yes,looks very much that the test squad were given the option to play or not. Don't blame our 3 in the slightest for opting out; Lees and Potts are trying to establish themselves as test players, they can do without any distractions. Stokes is preparing for a test captaincy role,likewise can do without distractions.

Agree and no problem with it. It would just be nice if the club informed us. It would actually do them a lot good but then again how long have we been talking about improving their PR on here.

I've sent an e-mail regarding lack of communication with members to Sam Blacklock who's listed as having responsibility for PR. I addressed it Dear Sir and now realise Sam is probably female. Not a good start!

Do we know the extent of Turner's injury?

I'm guessing he won't play tomorrow but hopefully fit again at some point in the tournament.

Dislocated shoulder, which was popped back in by the Durham medical corps.

That’s all we’ve been told.

I imagine they sent him for scans to rule out bone, ligament and/or tendon damage.

I don’t expect we’ll see him for the next week at the very least.
 
Saw this thread and thought id ask as ive never been to cricket match before (well not a big one!), im going with kids thru Stockton Cricket club, wed 1st June - what time does it start and finish etc - was thinking about getting train up if weathers decent so can have a few beers?
 
Unsurprisingly Turner out of game at Edgbaston. I guess. It's an opportunity for one of the youngsters possibly Bushnell. But it leaves a huge hole in Durhams team and he has only played a game and a half.
One thing for sure puts even more pressure on the likes of Clark Jones and Bedingham if they get in at least one of them had to bat deep into the 20 overs. I was pleased to hear Clark saying that he only got the job half done at Northants and should have seen it through like Lynn did for them.
