Drones

Got the DJI Mini the other day as it was basically half price. Still haven't been out with it due to weather, so had a go in the living room. Probably won't do that again

my photos in the echo today, number 7 😃
U got a link mate?

Did you get the argos deal?
Mine with some pigeons flying round it for some reason.

Scary stuff. Easily lose your drone if a bird clips it.
Dont know if this is any good but the deal just popped up on HUKD.

Its a good deal. Should be some more decent deals coming up with the mini 3 on route.

If you get attacked by birds, gain height.

Birds are lazy gits who don’t like going up. If you go downwards they will chase you but go up and they give in.
Good advice, I wouldn’t have thought of that.
it was just the one I posted the other week

Ahh yes, I remember now. A cracking effort.👍

Do I need an operator Id or some kind of licence for the Mavic mini? tia
Best advice register with CAA. Get operator AND flier ID.

If you get approached by the police it means you can say you are a CAA Licensed drone pilot and combined with a good attitude you will have no problems. Take the test of course - read the drone code and it’s easy.

Been wanting to get into using a Drone for a while now, but kept putting it off until I know I'll have the time and dedication to use it (hard enough finding time to get out using the DSLR).
Followed this thread and generally been thinking that once I make the plunge I'd go for a DJI Mini to get started.

Told the missus not to get one for me as a present for the above reasons..... Come Christmas Day, I open a present and its a Drone - HOLY STONE HS110G

She said she'd read up a little and that its better getting something like this as a "beginner" etc etc. Can't decide whether to send it back and look to put a few extra quid towards something a little better. If I'd caught that Argos offer on the DJI Mini on Boxing Day I'd have sent this back no problem.

What's the thoughts? Flight time is very short on this thing and doesn't have any obstacle avoidance sensors on it either.

ive never heard of holy stone
I did nothing like that, as you said........ Whoops 🙄 but I have discovered my Drone is unaware of my lack of paperwork, and flies just as well as Drones belonging to more legit types 👍

thats a bit like saying someones car is unaware of their lack of license and drives just as well as cars belonging to more legit types

I got my Drone about 5 years back? Nothing was needed then from memory, but give yourself a pat on the back for the crap analogy 😂
