Drinking in Sunderland City Centre - restored

Shut 6 months ago .been trying to sell it as a pub for couple of years , no interest . Great pub for locks in and early doors on Sunday . Big regret never got a photo of tea boy from Pyrex coming in with long pole with billy cans and Ted filling them with Stones for the glass blowers .
I remember they used to have about a dozen pint glasses, half filled with very frothy Stones on the bar ready to fill when required, it was immaculately kept.

I also remember the tea boys going in the Railway Tavern for the Scotch to take back to Pyrex

It was a decent bar over the years but the regulars died off and were never really replaced. There's not the trade in that area for oddies Gardners Oddfellows and railway nowadays.

nana used to live in Millburn Street and remember as a kid how busy the likes of landsdowne/Gardners etc used to be as a kid
I was born not far from there Gardeners was my local / regular. Still know quite a few from round there but they pretty much all just head to town now.
