Went to the one in Newcastle the weekend it first opened and there was a queue to get in, but once in it was only half full, I got the impression they trying to make it look really popular by making people queue up.

Loads of places seem to do it. Can't understand why you'd want punters outside not spending money rather than inside actually buying stuff.
I can imagine the bar staff standing around with nowt to do, place half empty with no atmosphere, while the owner thinks he has an exclusive joint cos there's a manufactured queue outside

Couldn’t be arsed, sounds like not enough bar staff , one in Newcastle is bad but nowhere near that30 minute wait in The Botanist for a DRINK
Will try it in week or2 once the social media crowd have been, but to be fair will just be similar feel to Newcastle’s it’s just a chain, more geared up for lasses n cocktails full of ice

Not me, one of my mates. I was living it up in Vestas when he come in and told me
Botanist was slow but got served after a bit. Plenty staff, lad who served me was spot on but place was rammed and loads getting cocktails which take forever. Shit beer choice as had ran out of pale ale and IPA.
I got refused entry from POC when they first opened for being too drunk

Empire end of town was absolutely rammed about 6pm yesterday. We ended up doubling back and heading to Fitzies.
Before that we were in The Cooper Rose. It serves a purpose but it is depressing.

town needs an old skool type of route. meet at X and if ya not there, follow the route until everyone is on board.
