Drinking in Sunderland City Centre - restored

Tried the Botonist tonight, didn’t look that full, bouncers turned us away saying bar manager says it’s too full, fuck me, in my he olden days it was because you had tattoos or trainers on.
Remember when Port of Call first opened, got refused cos I had Adidas Samba’s on, they never learn
Went to the one in Newcastle the weekend it first opened and there was a queue to get in, but once in it was only half full, I got the impression they trying to make it look really popular by making people queue up.

Loads of places seem to do it. Can't understand why you'd want punters outside not spending money rather than inside actually buying stuff.

I can imagine the bar staff standing around with nowt to do, place half empty with no atmosphere, while the owner thinks he has an exclusive joint cos there's a manufactured queue outside

30 minute wait in The Botanist for a DRINK

Couldn’t be arsed, sounds like not enough bar staff , one in Newcastle is bad but nowhere near that
Be all the cocktails getting made, they’ll not be getting my custom
Will try it in week or2 once the social media crowd have been, but to be fair will just be similar feel to Newcastle’s it’s just a chain, more geared up for lasses n cocktails full of ice
