Drinking in Sunderland City Centre - restored

I reckon we’re about the same age then, tenner into Pzazz and exchange your empty bottle for a new drink, if memory serves.

Moved away from Sunlin in 2013 so have only had about 5 nights out in the town since then, seems shite when I’m back but that’s probably cos I’m older and life moves on.
I'm 37 mate so was going to pzazz regularly when I was 18-20. Went back once in about 2015 and felt like a proper turbo nonce. The creepy older bloke on the edge of the dance floor.

Aye, same age then. Had no idea they reopened it, my idea of the town is frozen in 2013, I’m still shocked at what they’ve done with that area around the Londonderry and Idols and that.

What was that pizza shop outside Privledge? Some fat bint belted fück out of me in there once. 😂

Reopened as passion after a refurb. Couldn't notice anything that had been actually refurbed. Opened again as illusions later. It's getting flattened now though. I think that shop was called City limits? Once had a pregnant lass ask me and my mate if we fancied a threesome in there. Regret saying no sometimes.

Arizona has gone? When did that happen. Hated the place like.

Changed it over lockdown... The worst business deal I've ever seen since Sunderland AFC signed Jack Rodwell.. And it's been pretty damaging to the Night life in general.. Was only a few weeks ago a live band came in set their kit up etc, ended up packing up 15 minutes after they found out they sold literally zero tickets :D

Just pissing money away for the sake of it and the fact Arizona used to get rammed every weekend, just mental how he hasn't cut his losses and changed it back like.

Who runs it? What's it called now?

All places I try to avoid. Don't mind Chaplins like except it stinks.

Haha. Sunderland owes alot to Chocolate and Downey (Passion, Lolas, Trilogy and maybe more?) who've put alot of money into Sunderland but getting rid of Arizona has been nothing short of a disaster and needs to be reversed

Have a night out in Sunderland, you never know you might enjoy yourself.

I have been many times over the years mate (was seeing a lass who lived ashbrooke) and ditto South shields enjoyed both tbf. It's the company as much as the venue imho and obviously living in Newcastle it's always gonna be more convenient and cheaper to drink locally for me and my mates .

I'll go out in Sunderland again 100%. What really needs to happen for the whole area is for the metro to go 24/7 at leat on weekends.

Can see big positives and big negatives to 24/7 metros. Wouldn't fancy it at 3am myself.

Works in London which people say is didhier than the NE (I disagree FWIW for casual ASB / Drunken assaults) ...

Think it would work with more visible security (which I appreciate adds cost but imho would also increase passenger uptake). They should add more personnel on particularly the North shields to Byker route even through the day rather than swamp the 3 Newcastle City centre stations with people trying to catch fare dodgers. Just my opinion nexus!!
