Dossena

Despite all of the obvious reasons to think otherwise.....I quite like him. He's always looking to get forward which helps (as safc fullbacks usually glue themselves to the half way line) but you can also see his heart is definitely in it......which for now is better than nowt.

Got to say I'm happy his run in the team seems to be coming to en end with the arrival of Alonso though and he'll provide some decent cover/experience.

Look at this quote from the Guardian:-

"But at 2-0 they went into what-we-have-we-hold mode too early, withdrawing Craig Noone, who had destroyed Andrea Dossena,........"

I had never heard of Noone before - is he a world-beater?
Gary Bennett says we all know noone is a good player in his commentary...I've never heard of him neither.

terrible player. Slow and dirty. Red card waiting to happen. I would be happy if he never played for us again.
I like the idea of playing a left back at left back. Later in the game he helped stretch Cardiff. But he's not that great and the red mist is in him. Hopefully this Alonso is an improvement.

What is he like?
Looks more like a midfielder trying to play as a defender for me, he was terrible defensively yesterday but his pull back for Giacc(?) in the Cardiff penalty box was quality.

I know it's not much but he can cross a ball from the left. With his left foot. He might be the only player we have who can do that. I quite like how mental he is but was shite defensively tonight. If he watches the entire match back he will still not realise the lad he was marking was left footed.

This. Puts some good crosses in. Looks composed on the ball. Slow, can't tackle. Having him and Cattermole in the same team is just asking for a red card.

gives the team balance fights for the cause, mad fucker, shite but hes all we`ve got . at l/b without huffing like a spoilt shit
