We had a buyer for Christs sake. Why do people keep ignoring this? They changed their mind when Donald wanted to triple his money for a club worth less than he bought it for

Is there any real evidence that this is fact and not just you and other fans speculating on the reason the takeover didn't happen?

I'm not happy with how things are going on the pitch or behind the scenes but the Mags have been embarrassing themselves for years with these chairman out type protests and it has gotten them nowhere. The best protest you can do is just stop attending games. You can't get rid of an owner unless there is an interested buyer anyway and other than the stadium we have nowt worth buying right now.

I don’t think people want to stop attending games though. I’ve been a season ticket holder for years and I want to be able to go to the match and support my team.

Admittedly I’m wavering at the minute and I’m not enjoying one minute of being over there but I don’t think fans staying away is the answer - we just want to see some effort, quality and success on the pitch.

Parkinson needs to be sacked now, don’t give him the January transfer window. The squad is poor which isn’t his fault but some of his tactical decisions and team selections have been baffling. He’s not the right man for the job and Donald needs to swallow his pride and sack him.

I can’t see Donald being able to see us quickly even if he wanted to so we are probably going to be stuck with him for a while yet. If we are then he needs to take action, communicate with the fans and let us know what his plans are for the club. Do that, get rid of Parkinson, invest in the squad in January and we can get on supporting the team knowing that he’s taking action and looking for a buyer.

Sticking his head in the sand and staying silent is the worst thing he can do here.

I'm pretty sure the lads at the fanzines are aware of what they have written. And the fact that they could have produced a long list of SD's offences. just let them get on with it, aye !
Well why didnt they.
To me (and I presume others) he hasn't done much wrong. And that statement certainly doesnt convince me.
And the bleatings on here about our skinflint owners makes me despair and realise that a lot of our supporters don't want us to live in our means, but just want someone to bank roll us.

I'm just confused by our fans and by the fanzines tbh.

I don’t think the statement really matters that much. It’s the sentiment that counts.

The RAWA involvement concerns me a bit, I’m not sure where they have got the mandate from? They have a meeting on 16th Jan to discuss which seems a bit pointless now.

They're there to represent the fans at the end of the day. The majority are disgusted with the way the club is being treated and is heading. Can't just shy away from it.

I think the argument was that the investment in infrastructure was more because it hadn’t been maintained for years and this money was to bring it back up to standard.
There are probably only a few people who know if it’s down to money, I think they would argue he hasn’t had long enough to put his mark on the team, he has been successful at this level before etc. (I don’t agree btw).
Our income should be over £30m this year easily given the cost cutting I can’t see how we could be spending anywhere near that.

mate we cant afford to fix a lift ffs. I say that flippantly as it was CM who called it out but actually it’s a great example of how skint we actually are. I’m sure we’ve cut lots of costs but if we can fix the basic day to day things it’s a bad bad sign.

For example at my company we have a lift and if there is even a hint of an issue an engineer is called out that day. The club have had to lend money to fix this!

The statement was fine, in terms of saying that Bolton was the final straw.

There's nothing stopping them making additional statements in future.

The key thing is that a number of fans groups / sites came together and made a common statement asking that Donald leaves. That is a huge step forward and well done them.

Is there any real evidence that this is fact and not just you and other fans speculating on the reason the takeover didn't happen?
Donald himself said the takeover talks fell through and the 2 newspaper journalists who broke the dell involvement both claimed that was the reason. It simply isnt worth what he is asking for. He told RAWA it's worth between 30-50m. Why such a huge difference? And how has it doubled or trebled since he took charge?

How do they know the majority are disgusted with the way the club is being treated? Have they asked anyone?
I am trying to separate the issue, they are probably reflecting the general mood in this case, but what if they weren’t or it was much closer.

No, they were really trying to drill home just how low we are now and playing for a 0-0 draw at home to bottom of league 1 is as good an example as there is.

There's a meeting about it all in a few weeks so no doubt there will be more to come from that. They won't just be making one statement then forgetting about it.

If you want SD out, why wasnt a statement put out about all the bad things he has done?
It seems from the statement that we want SD out as PP substituted a defender for a defender when he was playing 3 at the back anyway.

I find it pathetic tbh.
Surely it could have been better?

The contrarians who think going against the grain makes them look smart are out in force I see.

Utterly predictable.

Then maybe they wouldnt have put the statement out? Cant possibly speculate what they would have done.

They've been ignoring emails for weeks about protests as @I am Boss will vouch for. It's not a sudden thing.

I have no clue about lifts but if it’s a 20 year old lift that has been broken for a while it might need a lot to get it working again not just fixing one that has broken down. I have no idea tbh.

I think the Americans have played a blinder tbh mate.
The Americans absolutely hold all the cards and call the shots from what I've been told.
The board meeting held recently was apparently at their request

I was told in all his time here, this was the FIRST proper board meeting SD had ever held! He just didnt bother

Give over. The vast majority are rightly disgusted.

Maybe, but they should really have some way of deciding/measuring these things. Or a process that has to be gone through.

They are in this case probably, having said that I think there are plenty who would be prepared to give him longer if he sacked the manager and/or investments well in January.
