Think this would carry more weight if those posters you believe are trolling didn't have valid points.

Rat & Jardine often speak valid opinions that often become reality. The problem being they don't tow the party line nor take care of how they say it.

This place would be very boring if everyone just patting each other on the back saying how great we are and how we are going to be world-beaters.

Firstly would you agree that they often speak opinions that are hogwash too?

Secondly find me an opinion of Rat's which has become reality? Even his constant digs at SD will be false once the takeover is complete (yes i'm saying once as i believe it will happen) as he has done a great job in making us more austere and has found investors who can take the club forward, something he has always stated he would need to do however some choose to conveniently ignore this, Rat included.

I remember him stating reservations on SD hiring his mates in key positions at the club, everyone else was in a state of euphoria at the club being bought and hammered him as per.

Even If I don't agree with his opinions or the way in which he states them, they're far from being a troll.

Unfortunately, this forum often deteriorates into slanging matches and as both him and Jardine are most often of a different view, they're outshouted. I think if I was spoken to in a manner that they often are, my posting style may change as well.

I understand and those things drove me barmy a long time back. Part of the problem with the internet seems to be folk are somewhat less civil when conversing.

Either way, I think he takes a lot more than he gives out. And if you can see past that, there is an interesting opinion.

YES he's brash and can seem aggressive but he's got some good opinions in there too.

I agree with what you're saying and I'm trying not to discuss this as it's off topic but maybe you possibly don't see what posters sometimes say and even recently the rat was at it. Is this post below in the takover thread a different opinion towards daveyred with regards his avatar and implying he's in jail? The rest of his post is canny but that first bit is completely unjustified and yet he cries about being insulted later also.

Amazing how people get so involved, upset, angry at comments on this board, even if there directed to them.
People post without any guarantees and identity , take it or leave it, most of it is banter anyway.
The takeover threads have mostly been witty and amusing, let’s hope it comes off.

Where did Daveyred say he was stupid? He did say other people must be gullible if they believed it, not the rat and that report thing isn't something he'd actually do, he's just implying he can't believe what he's saying regardless

100% agree with this mate.

But often what's put across isn't so much a differently held belief, it's a deliberately contradictory viewpoint designed to provoke an emotional response.

Posters like Reiver and in the past Bristow / derg appear to have attracted the same poster(s) as shadows on threads precisely because they're opinionated and brash and get emotional quickly.

It's interesting that the same poster taking delight in pointing out Reivers inaccuracies used to land on just about every thread Bristow was on - especially when retuning from bans - and he'd reply to other posters but actually alluding to Bristow trying to get a rise.

It was sure as night following day.

That's not a difference of opinion, its trolling - and thread after thread is derailed because of it and and this board is diminished because of it.
