Donald has tweeted about the takeover

Knackers are all in the eye of the beholder. Perhaps the posters that you revere are regarded as knackers by others. We can agree that this forum will still thrive.
Aye you're right and I'm a knacker at times and many will think that too but it's not just this and the takeover threads that certain posters seem to go against the majority and just cause crap in the manner that they do it. Anyone enough said and back to the topic for me ;)

Know what you mean, but I would be surprised if Donald would jeopardise the deal in that instance as he’s always stated he’d put the club first. From the Dell boys side, I would presume they’d want someone at the helm to keep things moving along who has a bit of football knowledge even if it’s just to see this season out.

All guesswork at this stage, but as stated on another thread, SAFC for £40m with the stadium, training ground, potential surrounding land available and support already in place, as opposed to a Premiership club for around £300m and the Dell boys must know they’ve found a bargain.
It would be fantastic to be a fly on the wall and know exactly what's gone on in this time but aye we're by far a much better acquisition than the Mags to someone who wants to invest in a structure and not just a few players. Even if the worst was to happen and the Dell boys didn't come in, I think we'd get another genuine interest over the Mags as they aren't as attractive as their 55,000 30 odd thousand screaming jordies like to think :lol:

There was a majority of hopeful people concerning the deal being done. I think many of those now see the claims in their true light and some have quite rightly been vocal about being misled in ways that were not always in the oft quoted good faith.

Well done Pancho. Your most recent most reasonable posts are in complete contrast to what we are used to from you.
You have pushed a lot of very good posters off this forum.
You have been/ are a bully. I suspect you have been told to reel it in, well you have confirmed it with your silly monitor comments.
You should make your mind up what you are going to be......a good moderator which you are currently not or an outspoken poster. You are poor at both.tbh.
I think it’s too late, lots of us have had enough of you and have voted with our feet.
You okay marra

Aye but to keep it short some took it too far plus as I said, it's not just Reiver who may have implied it was done and predicted a completion announcement ;) ALS may well end up ironing a huge DER over those SunDELLand t-shirts

Everything is in place here (apart from the team) and the potential for growth in the right hands is plain to see. £40m purchase fee and £100m on players should easily be enough to return to the Premiership with the right man in charge. These fellas aren’t daft and must realise that. Then again I may be slightly biased.

I think it's just a little frustration given what's gone on recently as I also misread it at first but then read it again and got your point and I agree ;) Anyway apologies for those on a phone as this is a TL;DR post but I'm a fast typist so just ignore it if you can't be arsed to spend a minute or 2 reading it.

As I've said elswhere the thread was called Takeover RUMOURS and this is a forum for discussion so I'm quite happy for anyone to say any old shite, whether it's genuinely passed on in good faith or speculated (as long as they make it clear) or even just a rumour they've heared themselves as I can make up my own mind. The blatant continuous bullshitters will soon be found out but there's been a few posters passed on info on and many appreciate that. You've also had posters who said they've had something to pass on but won't share it as they've seen what happens yet why is it some won't accept that people can get info that may not be public?

There's no denying Reiver said it's done and that's his opinion based on what he's been told and shown. He'd even predicted tomescales but it didn't happen yet some took this as fact and kept regurgitating this days and weeks after. However the BBC, ALS, Roker Report, Nick Barnes and other sources have all said stuff also and this adds to the disappointment and frustration but a lot was hoyed Reiver's way.

The problem is when posters like @Mrjardine, @PhilSAFC and @The Rat blatantly troll and then try to play all innocent about it when other posters then start to lose their patience with them. You also get the usual few posters backing up the trolling with posts or likes and sometimes even the bullying card is pulled out FFS  You can't deny it's the minority who have acted this way as I would say it's been no more than a handful of posters spoiling it for the majority of 100's if not 1,000's as this will include shit loads of lurkers who may post very little or nowt at all. It got to the point where the 2 threads were f***ing shite at times and even now reading this particular thread I see @Mrjardine has been bitching on about Reiver yet again as most of his posts are about or directed at him. Fuck me man, how pathetic is that as it's a clear obsession as he's bleating on about it wherever he can and Reiver has been banned how long now?

I've modded forums and even ran my own years ago and appreciate what the mods do here but I'd dare say I could pick a handful of members posts to remove and it would take away 90% of the shite we've seen on here. If I ask you to take off you mod hat and disregard whatever you think of Reiver, you've got to agree as a normal board member there were times when the trolling added fuck all to the thread and if anything took away from it and the ultimately the forum? So fuck if Reiver has been embellishing a little (he's even admitted this and I'm not denying he's a knob at times either) but as I've said many posters will appreciate what he (and others) have shared and they can then make their own judgement on it. It's clear a few posters obviously don't like the bloke and try to have a go whenever they can and it got a but repetitive numerous times.

It even got to the point where the info @Grumpy Old Man was passing info on and then the trolling then got directed at him  You've no doubt seen what's been said elsewhere about it all, the bit tit for tat between the 2 forums and members and even you and Reiver ;) though this forum will stil thrive regardless. However there's no denying many members who aren't keen on the shite we've seen in recent weeks have taken the time to go over to not606 and this place has missed out a little. The ones causing the friction will no doubt pull the same shit whenever they can the next time and for me this just spoils the forum. It's great on here as the rules are relaxed but here's hoping that on certain occasions it's nipped in the bud and the threads can thrive
Whats wrong with having an adult discussion on a fans forum site that involves different views as long as its not abusive ant threatening .If you dont like something either ignore it ,report it or blow it out of the water with a well thought out argument....I for one do not get annoyed by anything said about me on here and i don't hold grudges.

I am not sure of the precise definition of a troll but for half the posts i post i get snide and rude comments about my grammar and spelling from a couple of small minded individuals ad nauseam.Do i shout them doen or get abusive?Well no i dont i feel sorry for tham as they must be sad wretches if they have to come onto a fan site and belittle others .

I see what your getting at fella but as a firm believer in free speech i dont know how you mod a site like this without bias unless you allow all comments and posts and only ban tha abusive ones .

I appreciate the time you've taken to create this post and it deserves a reply.

I'm not sure if this thread is the correct medium and it's late so I'll have a think and get back to you either on here or by pm.

PM would be better mate as you're right, certainly not the thread to talk about it. Plus I'm back in topic now and that was just a rant as I've been off the forum all day and I was a few pages behind but then when I read it, it was just the usual shite we've seen.

The other factor and an important one for me, is the fact that the club is quite stripped back at the moment. That means if the Dell bioys come in and do what has been speculated then the club will prosper far more than taking an established PL team like the Mags and they trying to spring clean it. SAFC is as close to a blank canvas for a big club with potential as you can get I reckon.

I've even suggested that the wage structure be more performance based rather than just obscene fixed wages that we've seen in the past. That will then stop the likes of Rodwell draining millions from the finances for very little in return. If certain players aren't willing to accept lower wages then move onto someone who is and is hungry for success and reward them. Why the fuck should we have an £80m wage bill just so people can plod about on the pitch and we end up relegated? They could even give the hungry players more in bonuses than they would if they got the fixed wages as that means we'd be up the table if we were paying out and therefore able to generate more revenue. I hope people know what I mean as it's similar to giving a salesman a basic £50K a year and him generating £50K of sales or giving one £20K a year and then potentially able to get £60K a year OTE (on target earnings) as he gets £200K of sales.

Post of the year.

That's the problem, it isn't adult at times. I just said trolling as even just disguised snidey comments are a kind of trolling. Again, that's it from me as I'm also posting footy discussion now so would be interested to see what you reckon about that instead ;)

It would be good if this could be accomplished and it's the way most sporting contracts are written up in the states. A base wage with incentive payments in the form of bonuses for achieving specific targets both team and individual.

Not sure how the players agents would feel about this or the PFA but the clubs and fans should embrace it wholeheartedly.

Hmm! Why do you find it amusing that we may not be taken over, very strange ...

I suppose its how stuff is percieved , one persons snide remark is anothers rapier to cut through the waffle !Snide is a difficult one to but in a box for me but abuse is obvious to everone or should be !

I think it will head that way over time as I bet even the likes of Man Utd don't appreciate the fact they paid this below for Sanchez when I posted it on August 15th, along with Mkhitaryan's costs. It's f***ing shocking really, £40m salary in 81 weeks man, that's over 4 times our season's gate receipts the last time we were in the Premier League!

************ Thor'd *************

Since Jan 22nd 2018 it's been 81 weeks he's been there so he's earned £40.5m from salary alone (this isn't including all the other income he'll get). His total appearance in all competitions info for Man Utd according to Soccerway website.

Total Apps: 50
Total Goals: 7
Starts: 36
Total time on pitch: 3196 mins
Average Appearance time: 64 mins
Min per goal: 456
Cost per min on pitch: £12,672
Cost per goal: £5,785,714

f***ing hell man, over £5m for every goal? And we thought Rodwell was a bad deal!:lol:

Mkhitaryan isn't that great either!
Total Apps: 62
Total Goals: 9
Starts: 44
Total time on pitch: 3971 mins
Average Appearance time: 62 mins
Min per goal: 441
Cost per min on pitch: £4,079 (based on £200k wages)
