You have to be a bit stupid to leave keys in a car. Who does that even just to dash into a shop?

I bet plenty who do it, even those who don't have their car nicked, do so due to being pre occupied on their phones etc.

I always leave my bike keys in the ignition when I'm on a ferry. Less chance of mis-placing them but you always get someone commenting that the keys might get stolen. Yeah right, thousands of pounds worth of gear strapped to bikes and they're going to nick my keys.

If you're going to leave your keys in the car ignition then at least remember to take off all your wheels and leave the car on bricks. It makes it much more difficult for thieves to go around looking for the right fit wheels to put on to have it away and they would tend to go looking for easier targets.
