Swindon On Tour
Striker
We took Cassie, a black lab, to trying classes which were great. We continued the training and she understands what we want her to do. If she has been running in wet fields, she knows to sit on a towel in the kitchen beside the back door. I tell her to lift a paw, starting with the front ones when she is sitting. When it is trine to dry the back paws, I ask her if she hates the Mags. She stands up as when I was training her I said stand up if you hate the Mags.
Maybe a bit sad, but it makes me laugh every time.
She takes a plastic bone to my wife every night as the Mrs has started to put treats in it. The dog never comes to me with it. The dog has different routines with us when it comes to bananas at breakfast.
She is nearly 2 year old but knows her routines and what she can have and she never oversteps the mark. She is very sensible and loving and we couldn’t ask for a better dog.
They are incredible.
Ted is 9 at the end of this month thus getting into his mature years.
Before we go out on a walk I say “stretch” and he will walk over on the mat and stretch out his front paws with his bum in the air.
I give his front joints a good rub down.
I then say “carry you” and put his front 2 paws in the boot of the car and then I lift him up.
He knows the drill.
Number 4 is the only one that is nailed on marra. Not a chance in Hell that in my lifetime that I will love a dog as much as I love Bobs mate.
I have had dogs since my first GSD that I was given when I was 6 years old.
A very very special dog that GSD. He tought me how to love and treat a dog. All dogs are measured on the "Shep" Scale.
My best friend from 6 to15. The best
Such a special man.
Had several since. All great in their own way, and been given love, and care.
Then came this little man.
A little working Cocker. As gentle as gentle can be. And like The Boss has with @Swindon On Tour , he owns my heart mate.
I am lucky because I have now had that twice in my life.
That's not ganna happen for a third time.
When we lose Ted we are going to have a break from having another.
We just won’t get another like him. He is unique.
Tell my Mrs (no) that you call him the boss
Met a 10 week old Cocker yesterday. Kept jumping all over him, then rolled over in front of him then back up licking him. The young lass was worried and told her not to be.
Next minute the dogs lead was wrapped around “the bosses” legs and he just stood still, back legs trembled and we had to untangle him with his tail wagging.
Just a big soft gentle giant.
