The song was on the Jukebox in a pub I used to go to occasionally (The Lord Clyde in South Shields) and the Mags I knew used to play it all the time.

As I pointed out I was only taking from what another fan had said and regardless of wether we played before or after, our fans joined the tranmere fans in cheering them on. I don't care that it was a meaningless game in grand scheme of things we did something which you slate the mags for! People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
I don't want the mags to win anything but I don't go down this whole faux hatred route which idiots like you do. There are plenty posters on here who don't subscribe to your daft views who will be just as fanatical or do you have to hate the mags to be a true football fan? :lol:
As I've said a season ticket for 30 year doesn't mean you understand the game Bonny lad. It means you're a professional fan, a voyeur, a watcher who showed with your 'cauldron of hate' bollocks and claiming the players were gutless,spineless etc that you've never played any sport in your life because if you had you would realise that lads don't get to the top level by not having a heart. Nothing funnier than watching some fat lad in the crowd who couldn't run 10 yards without blowing out backside ranting and raving at top athletes!

honestly I've lived among them all me life and never heard it. I vividly remember the chants of toon toon as being summit new.

Being from Whickham, I used to ''gan to the toon'' drinking in the 80's.
However''Toonarmy'' only started in 1992.

Maybe it was an out of town thing. As a Sandy who used to go regularly into Newcastle to see gigs at the City Hall and Mayfair, and the Friday Night Rock at the Mayfair, they always said we were gannin to the toon, and that song was a major factor in it.

I understand football while you understand watching it. Big difference Bonny lad. Il keep my eyes peeled when I wander over the SOL this season for a rotund,wheezing ginger lad singing anti Newcastle songs then telling the lads sat next to him just how obsessed them up the road are with us! A very complex character! :lol:
