Documentary on Sunderland (1994)

I’ll watch that later.

If only to prove to my missus that there were hardly anyone who owned a car when I was growing up in the late 80s early 90s

She thinks I exaggerate

I moved away when this was made (1990) and watching it makes me have mixed emotions. Some people had so much positivity but I honestly felt not one ounce of that which made me leave. Opportunity for me were pretty much nonexistent but I wasn’t alone. Watching them lads shut the gates and drop, the cranes fall, ( north sands I believe ) being steam rolled and the promised jobs that never arrived breaks my heart.
Part 2 and 3 tomorrow
Thanks op

There's 4 of them and I found it interesting and depressing .It looks 50 years old at least People moan non stop about Sunderland today. Its a far better place than it was then .

Good watch, but depressing as someone already said. You have to laugh, Frank Nicholson ,, the posh git of Vaux Breweries , Vaux fooked off not long after, and the woman whose hubby worked at Wearmouth , that went as did the Mail order firm she worked at :(
