Do It Now - Get Rid

I've always said from day one the getting Moyes was a brilliant move after Big Sam left. What a springboard he had from how Sunderland finished from the end of last season following on to this. I never thought it would be one of them touch and go seasons as I have posted prior. Without wishing to upset anyone, at Stoke City last weekend, Sunderland were very poor (and I know injuries didn't help) considering only a few months prior in the last season you got a draw and could of won it when on that great run. I don't think I've heard the half-time whistle greeted with such venom by away fans as it was last weekend. I still rate Moyes, he is a good manager, is there something more deep-rooted behind the scenes, none of the players seem unhappy with him. Hughes has had a tricky spell and things seem brighter now. People were calling for his head only a few weeks ago. One win and things change. Looking at the table you can't blame people for wanting Moyes gone, but that said, I still rate him and I really think he'll sort it.

Also, quite a lot are saying get Big Sam back, but will he be in the right frame of mind to get back into management so soon even though he knows Sunderland like the back of his hand. Its tough choices atm, but I'd still stick with moyes, and I understand those how don't agree.

Pro short?

All I'm asking is for you to prove he lied. Can you?
Or shall we take a quick look at the circumstantial evidence first:

Dick Advocaat was begged to come back.
Within weeks he was suggesting the squad was nowhere near good enough and that club hadn't listened to his warnings. After 9 games he walked.

Sam Allardyce before he bailed for England suggesting the cash he expected was nowhere to be seen.

David Moyes when appointed spoke of "assurances" over transfer budgets. Now suggests the only way we can survive is to spend big in January but he's "yet to speak to Ellis".
Well Dave I can tell you now how that one will go.

Do you require anymore examples?

But you know all this don't you.

So no, you don't have any proof the owner lied. Thought not.

Bain has said that players won't come because of of league positions and not because of the area. So if we can't sign players in the summer how are we going to sign players in January when we are going to be 10+ points cut adrift at the bottom? They keep banging on about a long term plan. He's signed a 34 year old player who can't last 50 minutes and an injured striker nobody else wanted, for a season.

Short has given Moyes 30 million and he's spunked it all on Papy, who can't get in the side ahead of O'Shea, Love (less said the better), McNair who has a fantastic record of us conceding within 5 minutes of him coming on every game, and broke out transfer record on Ndong. I wouldn't give Moyes another penny to spend if it was me. Shorts biggest problem is settling for managers who have in nearly every case been sacked from their last jobs because he doesn't want to pay compo to get a manger doing well. Sign sacked manager, sack manager. Sign sacked manager, sack manger ad infimitum

You haven't made any points.
I gave you 3 examples of where managers have suggested the board at the club haven't listened to their assessment of the squad.

Would you care to enlighten me which one you feel is invalid?

He didn't even want the job. This is no proof at all the "owner lied"

Well moyes got almost £30 million so the money was some where to be seen.
David Moyes when appointed spoke of "assurances" over transfer budgets. Now suggests the only way we can survive is to spend big in January but he's "yet to speak to Ellis".

Again moyes got almost £30 million. If he's moaning about " the only way we will survive" its because of the shit job he has done so far.

Fair point.

However. Do you feel £30m is sufficient to turn a relegation-threatened squad of 4 years running into a one that can compete when half of it is injured?

We can blame another manager. The 8th in 5 years if you wish.

Or we can look beyond that.

Probably not, not in todays market anyway. We were in a decent position going into the summer with a settled squad and a game plan. Moyes just seems to have put names in a hat and signed the names he's pulled out and he's spent all his budget on players who don't even improve the first team. I wouldn't mind losing games as much if I could see what the manager is trying to do, or implement or could see positives that we can take into the next game but there is nothing at all. It's as bad as I can ever remember seeing. Wilko got 2 wins in 20 games. I honestly can't see anything to suggest Moyes could even equal that record let alone better it

£30 million should have been more than enough , if spent correctly, considering £15 million had already been spent in January to turn a struggling team onto one that took 27 points from 19 games.

At the very least, it should have been enough to fashion a team that could win one game in nine.

Well that was a disappointment.

Your outrage at my post suggested you had a grand argument to thwart my own.

Move along.

You have no proof the owner lied.

You are using things said by advocaat to try and prove the owner lied to moyes. That is how poor your argument is.

Take your mouth out of his.. ..
I'm only asking for proof the owner lied. Surely that's not too much to ask?

It's not poor, tbf. A lot of our managers have uttered the same stuff. Are they all talking shite, or is it just a coincidence?
