Disturbing films that have stressed you out?

28 Days Later. The fact it was set in the UK and the zombies (I know they werent technically zombies) could sprint
Also I thought Contagion was quite disturbing considering everything that is going on at the minute. Phrases like "social distancing" and "lockdowns" being used in the film from 10 years ago, it just seemed very real during these days.

There’s loads I suppose. Older I get the more they stress me out and for some reason recently during lockdown I’ve tended to go for films of a more uplifting nature but nevertheless this is about stressful films or disturbing films you’ve seen..

Audtion, Japanese film. Loved it but end was awful
Eden Lake, the fire scene I hated. Good film
Come & See. Whole thing just made me feel dreadful. Too much given it is real.
Irreversable. Both the rape scene and the fire extinguisher scene made me feel wrong. Good film though.

Must be loads more.

The Shining was the first film to really put the frighteners on me.

Alien and The Lost Boys also had a couple of really suspenseful or eerie bits

I know what I like now so tend not to watch certain films

When a Stranger Calls scared the living bejesus out of me as a kid. Watched it whilst mam and dad were out and we’d just got a second phone in their bedroom.

Clockwise with John Cleese. Basically bloke is late for a conference.
Genuinely gives me nightmares to this day. Last night actually - I hate being late and my recurring nightmare is being late for something and lots of stuff get in my way.

The dentist's chair in Marathon Man sorts you out mind

Just started watching that.

Never seen it so thought I would give it a go since it was made the year I was born. And I like Dustin Hoffman. The World at War guy John Guielgud is in it. Roy Schneider is in it too.
Ah yes. Superman 2 with the evil Superman freaked me out.

Superman III that was.

@General Zod was in Superman II.

The champ was a strain on my body. Not exactly disturbing or weird, just emotional wreckage.

John Voight.

Left me an emotional wreck too. So did One Moment In Time with Chris Reeve.

Martyrs was grim, quite hard to watch. I haven't seen the English remake so not sure if that's any better or worse.
