Disney world Florida

Disney World in Florida doesn’t have any extreme thrill rides. There are a few good coasters like Guardians, Everest and Rock n Roller.
The big coasters are all at Seaworld, Busch and Universal.
Think it might be because most who go to Disney at US will also go to those 3 parks to make the most of it. Hence why I class it more thrill seeker.

Since we've had the kids, we've only done Disney. There's 6 proper parks including the 2 water parks. You only get 12 clear days in a 2 week holiday and I've founds that's plenty enough to be getting on with.

When they're teenagers it'll be different. And maybe we would do 1 day to take them to see the Harry Potter stuff next time.

For massive rides, there's better and cheaper to be had on the road trip we did last year. (The Ride to Happiness at Plopsaland for example - fuck me!)

going nearly 3 weeks in august

On site disney 1 week then rest universal. Staying endless summer, ideal for parks buses are every 5-10 minutes and take literally 3 minutes or so to get to the parks/city walk

We always do a wallmart trip for beers, snacks and stuff for when we are around the pool, saves a fortune. Its about 10 dollars for one of the aluminium cans where you get a box of 20 for about 20 dollars.

Wish the new epic universe parks were open but think thats next year!
I'm going for 3 weeks in end of July and start of August. Same hotel as you the dockside Inn. Loved endless summer last year when we where there its handy as for the shuttles to citywalk and the parks. Great spot for a dodge to Walmart to get the beers in also

Free dining has been announced for next year. Book after 18th April for stays starting 7th Jan 2025 until Dec 2025
That's very interesting.
We're planning to go Easter 2025 and haven't decided on hotels yet. We do have one in mind - newly refurbed, no resort fee, free afternoon hot food, snacks and even cocktails - next to Disney Springs with 30min hopper busses to the parks. But not sure on how best to sort a deal out this far in advance.

But always fancied the Port Orleans hotel.....

That looks fab. We stopped at portofino hotel at universal which was disappointing. We also stopped at Disney yaught and beach club which was fantastic.
the beach club was a 2 minute walk into Epsom resort .
Fancy going back after reading these threads but the kids are teenagers so not sure if they would still want to go 🙁

You would be mental not to book CBR/POR for a 5 person room and take the free dining. It'll cost you more than the off-site hotel, but you'll get 20 lots of free meals a day for your family and snacks/drinks etc.

CBR is better though, especially now the Skyline is there.
Is it only for certain hotels? That’s the normal crack, we stop in Art of Animation and we couldn’t get it on previous visits
Free breakfast at value hotels usually.

Never looked at CBR, will do though. [edit: quick check, £4800 - probably £2500 more than the hotel we were looking at - is that worth it for all our meals - probably)

Need to start getting a feel for pricing, but its tough when the flights and packaged might not be out for next Easter yet as its over 12 months away

Will probably take my folks along too, which further complicates

iirc, it used to be quick server for the value hotels, and 1 extra sitty down per day for the moderates

Dining Plan

Moderate hotels get 2 Quick service, 1 snack and a resort refillable cup. No table service.

tbh, I think I might get very fed up of eating (basically) fast food twice per day - and there's no breakfast unless I use a QS credit, then I'd need to pay for another meal. Hmmmm..

Pay a visit to Celebration the town Disney built, nice spot for a walk around with bars, restaurants etc feels more like a real American town

I'm hoping I can get the bairn to about 14 without ever hearing of Disney World as it sounds like hell on earth and an absolute rip off.

It’s true like the food at Disney is the worst thing about it. Everything is brown. Or fried. Great for 3/4 days but fuck me you start craving vegetables 😂 then you see all the fat yanks on the mobility scooters and it all makes sense. It’s f***ing hideous the state of those lot. Food aside it’s a fabulous holiday like.

Definitely worth it. It's fantastic being able to jump on the skyliner and be at HS in about 5 minutes. Epcot is maybe double that.

I would upgrade to prober Disney dining though. That way you can do character meals every day if you want.

It was decent value a few years back. It's getting a bit daft now though.

Yeah, you need to upgrade it to full Disney dining really. There's more than enough for all meals, plenty of snack credit items for breakfast etc.

It has been QS at moderates since 2018 at least

It's all the HS, CBR etc abbreviations that do my head in and seems like you have to revise for a test to know what any of it means. I'm taking mine this year but only going for one day. Cant imagine 2 weeks of that
