Disgusting, toxic home support

Why didn’t you say something to them then? If this really did happen?

And remember you’re at the football not a tea party with royalty ...

... swearing at the football ...
I did say something and you haven’t read my post if you think I’m having a whinge about a bit of bad language...

The atmosphere yesterday wasn't toxic. I think you may be over exaggerating a bit because you sat next to a few knackers
Again, I haven’t suggested it was. It was individuals. I’m pretty sure not just around us, but thats what I was referring to. I haven’t exaggerated anything. No need to!

I have no doubt I will be shot down on here, but nevertheless..

Attended the game today in the east stand, very close to north stand concession corner.

Absolutely sickening bigotry, foul and abusive language, and apparent hatred of..well pretty much everything and everyone.

In context only my second game of the season and third since the opening day of last season so no idea whether this is now the norm or something in the air today.

Quite a few kids around us and worryingly the worst perpetrators of the really disgusting language all seemed to have children with them.

C word, puff, *******, retard, f***ing southern bastards, inbreds...what a lovely bunch we had around us today.

No question in my mind it’s got worse over the last 5 or 6 years. A big factor in giving up my ST but today was a real eye opener having been away from it.

I’m sure at least 50% of safc supporters are decent, well brought respectful people but honestly, so many animals associated to the club these days, not for me any longer .Good luck.

Bye bitch

I wouldn't be too sure about that. Brexit has opened up a can of racist worms. People are more openly racist now than at any time for 30 years.

It’s given people who think like that a platform. We now know for a fact that a lot of these individuals were target by Dominic Cummings prior to the referendum and it has stirred something inside them. I knew there would be some pretty horrible characters at the game yesterday but I wasn’t prepared for the extent of it. Bile is no exaggeration whatsoever.

You said 50% of fans ffs.
I go in the swc and go to about 10 aways a season mixing with a very passionate support and my experience is nothing like what you're posting. I've never heard ANY racist or sexist language. I've never heard anything toxic (and I've been in the crowd 2 nil down at Walsall).
Insinuating 50% of our fans are like what you wrote and then saying you don't exaggerate. What a horrible post marra

Because it didn't happen.

Jarvis has earned his wind-up reputation over the years on here. Its deserved. He exaggerates and did in his OP.
But that doesn't mean it didn't happen.

The abuse I heard directed at Charlie Wyke at Scunthorpe was an absolute disgrace. I could give lots of examples this season of similar behaviour. I didn't personally hear much yesterday although someone a few rows back from me called Vaughan a "black bastard".
There is incredible anger in some people. It's reflective of modern society I'm afraid. The response to Jarvis on here could prove his point.

I've been to almost every away ground in the country and that description applies to none of them.

Not Leeds, not Millwall, not Cardiff.

Of course Millwall shout about northerners, Cardiff shout about the English and Leeds swear and shout about everything.

Where your wumming falls down is that you always over exaggerate and appear slightly ridiculous.

You're a bit of a sad one and obviously a social misfit ...

... I've absolutely no doubt you went to the game alone.

I don't believe him but I take YOUR point

I think it’s fair enough to raise the issue of language.

Certainly since Kids have been allowed to sit in the North Stand I’ve tried to curb my swearing.

Not sure ‘toxic’ sums up the atmosphere mind.

Kids playgrounds and hen nights are just as bad mate ...

... this idea of protecting women and children went down with the Titanic.
