In context only my second game of the season and third since the opening day of last season so no idea whether this is now the norm or something in the air today.

Quite a few kids around us and worryingly the worst perpetrators of the really disgusting language all seemed to have children with them.

C word, puff, *******, retard, f***ing southern bastards, inbreds...what a lovely bunch we had around us today.

No question in my mind it’s got worse over the last 5 or 6 years. A big factor in giving up my ST but today was a real eye opener having been away from it.

I’m sure at least 50% of safc supporters are decent, well brought respectful people but honestly, so many animals associated to the club these days, not for me any longer .Good luck.

Something ive asked before, but does the famous 12th man in the crowd exist anymore?

It might be an east stand thing, but I've found them in there to be easy to criticise every single slight they see on the park, but arent quick to get behind the team when they need a lift? Couple of times i've been sat next to the George Honeyman Fan Club who are three owld fellas who spend 90mins slagging off every single missive they see without any praise of the good bits...

In the East Stand too, about 18 yard box on South Side. All I heard was one eedjit a few rows back slagging Charlie Wyke at every opportunity. My language was probably the worst with the odd 'Shit' aimed mostly at bad refereeing decisions. No-one booed the lads off and lots stayed and applauded at the end. Just a snapshot of the crowd, but from where we were I certainly wouldn't call it Toxic:cool:

Must admit I have not come across that at all. Since I have been at the SOL from opening I have had one person behind me who shouted something racist which I asked him to stop as I was with my kids. It really is as little as that over the 20 odd years of attending. I don't recognise what you are describing and so to suggest that maybe 50% of Sunderland fans are animals/not decent is just plainly click bait and nothing more. Did you not go to Wembley - I spent quite a bit of time in Trafalgar Square and found it amazingly good humoured and that was the general national feedback on the behaviour of our fans yet you want to start an opposite narrative - how disappointing of you.

Pompey fan throws a smoke bomb into the North Stand. Probably hit a kid. BRAIN WAVE. Oh, I know. I’ll make up a load of shit, and start a thread about how Sunderland fans are actually the WORST. Because, given that the away support were just involved in one of the scummiest incidents to happen at the SoL, saying Sunderland supporters are scummy will get loads of bites. Result.

It's almost as if over time what was once acceptable is now rightly deemed not anymore due to education and eradicated ignorance.....

Unless of course you think it would still be fine to call players wogs for example....

I was the first one to point out that the racist abuse of a copper he claimed to have witnessed can’t have been that bad (if it occurred at all) as he’d first mentioned it the morning after the match yet he’d made a number of other posts within a couple of hours of the match on early Saturday evening without the abuse being mentioned.
His subsequent disappearance was possibly my greatest contribution to the smb apart from breaking Sgt Wilko leaving. You can all thank me with alcohol.

Of course he realises no one believes owt he posts but needs the attention for some reason.
