*~*~* Dirty Leeds v Sunderland match thread *~*~*

I’m not faulting the performance. Other than a couple of players who I think individually were poor, we did exactly what we set out to.

It’s the fact we have to set out like that which disappoints me.
Yes, i totally get that. I was saying the same, it is frustrating and a club our size in this league really shouldn't be approaching games like that...but, if we went toe to toe with Leeds, we would have been mullered. Ekwah wouldn't have been able to cope with an end to end game for 90 mins, he struggled today as it was.

There’s 2 things to look at. Tonight’s game in isolation - played well good point in a very tough game.

Overall, we should be going into games like that at best slight 2nd favourites. We were 7/1 with the bookies tonight.

Im fairly vocally unhappy with all things ownership and board and where we’ve fallen off a cliff this season, but I don’t think there’s ever a season where a point at Elland Road is a bad one - both very similar sized big northern clubs.

Great point, shite season…huge summer ahead and I’ve got plenty of reservations.

Happy with the commitment and work rate.
Pleased with any teams bar the mags who take
points off Dirty Leeds
I thought Bellingham was poor
To be fair, I don't think anyone in front of our backline(save for Neil and a good effort by Rigg) really offered much of anything tonight. I know Styles was a pseudo-winger but he was essentially a part of the backline, too.

Yeah I agree. That game plan was the only way we were gonna get anything out of the game so well done to the footballing staff.

"Should be" but aren't at the moment and no chance of rectifying until next year. So, you can enjoy a strong team away performance against a top opponent in or you can just moan that things aren't the way they should be and can't be changed right now.

You’re happy that a sunderland team in the championship goes into a game and plays for a draw, which we got because the ref missed a pen?

I think the lads played really well, baring a couple, tonight but we shouldn’t be in a position as a club where that result is the best we can hope for.
Thats where we are and yes am well happy after watching that. the future , Rigg , Pembele another now , yes . Very happy tonight.

Imo it’s boring as fck to go on and on about our shit no striker no manager situation.
We all are pissed off about it but we’re not going down so let’s have a laugh with this last few games.
I enjoyed tonight and I enjoyed Saturday.
I'm highlighting why we couldn't keep hold of the ball and we were on the back foot for most of the game...without getting really stretched at all.

Yeah, we should be coming away from Leeds with a point being glad that we’ve helped our promotion chances.

So the game in isolation is a good point.

Yes they should. It wasn't shite. We had more shots on target at a place where they have a squad with premier league players, we had a 16 and a 18 yr old in the first 11. Great battling performance imo.
And here lies the problem, people happy with us setting up to defend for our lives for 90+ minutes. Working with what we've got, I know, but by god, we need better players if we want to compete at the top.

I can do both. Great performance from the team and executed the game plan perfectly.
