Diarra out till December

We won't be starting a player who is primarily a centre half as Diarra's replacement. It'll be Rigg or Le Fee
I would t be surprised, sure Reggie talked up his versatility when he signed. He looks very comfortable on the ball. We have a few options move le fee in, play rigg, play Neil. It’s not ideal but we saw on Sunday the team is still very capable.

You have to ask the question what on earth happened in training, not a full pelt game, that has resulted in a player copping an injury that will take 4 MONTHS to get over.
Did he already have some ‘weakness’ or predisposition?
Did another team member do it?
I find it bewildering frankly
Aye his weakness in this case is he's fucked his groin and needed surgery, not sure there's necessarily anything malicious about that.

2 and a bit, not 4. And you can tear a muscle or what have you doing pretty much any kind of high intensity football training. It's just bad luck.

I’d read ‘at least 2 months’.

Its a massive blow, let's not downplay it. The manager clearly prefers Le Fee on the left, which leaves an 18 year old kid and Dan Neil who loads on this forum thought wasn't good enough last season in the championship.

For 180 seconds
Who gives a flying whatnot about what fans on this forum think, especially about the ability of players.
Clearly Rigg showed enough during his 30 minutes to indicate he is more than able to show his own and replace Diarra. Cometh the hour, cometh the man

Aye im sure we will manage like but people are too flippant to suddenly think Neil is the answer in that further forward position.
Not a chance Neil plays that position....he flaps when he gets near the 18yard box. Simply hasn't got the composure or the workrate needed in the press to play there imo.

Recovery time for a football player after groin surgery depends on the type of surgery and individual factors, but generally:

Minor procedures (e.g., adductor release or minor hernia repair): 6–12 weeks.
More complex surgeries (e.g., sports hernia or extensive groin reconstruction): 3–6 months.

Timeline:
0–2 weeks: Rest, pain management, and limited movement to allow initial healing.
2–6 weeks: Gradual introduction of physical therapy, focusing on mobility and light strengthening.
6–12 weeks: Progressive return to sport-specific training, including running, cutting, and kicking.
12+ weeks: Full return to competitive play, assuming no setbacks.
Sounds like you are in the medical Hulkstersy.
Can they not jam some steroids into him increase the repair period?

Sickner man. The most logical thing if he wants Le Fee out wide (which i still don't fully know why when hes done well centrally) to me would be Geertruida in Xhaka's position, moving him forward and Sadiki into Diarra's position

If he goes to Afcon he will just go to sit on the bench and that will be pointless.

Nevertheless, big opportunity for Rigg to shine and cement his place.
