Wishful thinking. If he gets called up, club can’t really stand in the lads way if he wants to go.Regis is playing a blinder once the Senegal side is confirmed, the club will then announce he is fit so we can keep him here.

He might not get named in the squad for afcon ,as teams have to name their squad ( not 100% sure ) usually about 10 days before tournament starts ,
Agree, last thing we should do is rush him. I reckon we're savvy enough behind the scenes now to make sure this isn't the case though.Got to be absolutely certain he is fully fit… I for one would leave him out of the Mags game… it will be too frenetic for his first game. May cost us points but we will more than recover those if he is available for the rest of the season.
Technically the club can as they don't have to release his papers to play. But why would a club piss there own player off.Wishful thinking. If he gets called up, club can’t really stand in the lads way if he wants to go.
Salah is out, I think Senegal win it.So all eyes on them naming Thier squad
Pretty sure teams have taken injured players to tournaments before with the idea of them being fit later on
AFcon is huge in Africa so I imagine he'll want To go
That's a bit of a hasty assessment IMHO.Quality of our squad is comparable to Newcastle's after just one transfer window. RLB is far superior to Howe.
Wishful thinking. If he gets called up, club can’t really stand in the lads way if he wants to go.
What if they play him first game while still injured and misses the rest of the seasonYou can’t stand in his way this is a major international tournament and the lad will want to play. Let’s call it his getting fit and back into match practice so when he reruns in January can hit the ground running for us.
I was thinking exactly this. Let him recover properly, have a good second half to the season and be firing for the World CupThey won’t be doing his World Cup chances any good if they call him up for Afcon when he’s not fit. I’m hoping they see sense and delay a call up
What if he stays and gets hit by a bus in Pennywell? What if they play him first game while still injured and misses the rest of the season
Wishful thinking. If he gets called up, club can’t really stand in the lads way if he wants to go.
Give owa. We knew the drill when we signed him and the other lads, turning AFCON into SAFCON.A bit of a cheek, though. We pay his fn wages and he has hardly played for us. Out of principle, he should not go.
