Mowbray relegated WBA, was sacked at Boro, and is now managing in League one.
Strachan relegated Coventry and was terrible at Boro
McLeish only got Birmingham promoted after initially taking them down, and he was awful at Villa and Forest.

Each have had a good spell at one club in this country, but overall have not had much success at all, barring McLeish winning a cup which you can't argue against.
Talk about spin - Mowbray got them promoted as champions, was praised for their football in the Premier, and the fans wanted him to stay and get them back up but Celtic bought him

Coventry had been on the brink for years
Afterwards Strachan did a good job at Southampton, then won a bunch of leagues with Celtic when Rangers were still a force.

McLeish was relegated as he came in late in the season - they were odds on to get relegated. Amd he won a cup, so his time was very successful by their standards, which is why he got the Villa job

Aberdeen won a cup in 2013-14....
League Cup. But that's not my point. Scottish football fans are quick to label Irish football as a pub league but are annoyed that that we are doing the same with them. Both leagues are a poor standard and about level. If Stephen Kenny was to get the job I'd be disappointed despite him achieving more in the last 5 years than McInnes.

It is somewhere between League One and Championship. But Celtic are between Championship and Premier, sometimes leaning more one way than the other.

In the 80s-90s Rangers would have been a top team in England. But finances' have put paid to that!

You have to near in mind, Scottish teams are having to play in the Europa during their preseason against teams usually in the middle of theirs, including Irish

Scottish football is about the same as League 2 bottom half League 1.

Obviously not a statement appointment as such but I'd be happy enough with Del. Done very well at Aberdeen and will have a point to prove in England. Great age as well to potentially build something here.

I was amazed people mock Scottish managers without knowing Scottish managers won the league here!
No one is mocking Scottish managers. They are questioning can a SPL manager make the step up to the Championship. Italians have won more PL titles than any nation. But di Canio and Zola have failed.

Maybe - but Aberdeen, Hearts, etc would be decent Championship teams. Scottish football has been screwed due to budgets. They cunningly turned down a Sky contract years a go that would have kept them competitive

It is not that much of a step up from Aberdeen, in the present circumstances. It is a step up, but not prohibitively so
